Am still in Kilmarnock, savouring this for all its worth

You deserve it mate. You go to a lot of games and fans like you deserve every bit of success you get. No one can take that away from you. Just back from watching rugby so know what it is all about, despite what one or two would say here. All credit to you, the Celtic fans for their title success.

    Keith,

Now that Celtic have officially won the SPL there's the small matter of our bet which needs to be settled!

Still on cloud 9 really after yesterday. Obviously with the big lead the day when we officially became champions was just a question of what game. But wow talk about winning the title in style. Absolutely stunning performance and some fantastic goals too. We wrote a really great chapter in the clubs history yesterday by clinching the title in such style. Brilliant atmosphere as well.

It is hard to remember that we were 15 points behind at one point so incredible was the run we have been on since then. A truly memorable title win it has been. Absolutel brilliant:D

    Paul George injury update
By: Newsroom Staff on 08 Apr, 2012 16:12
CELTIC Under-19 player Paul George could be out for between six to eight months after suffering a broken leg during Saturday´s 3-0 league win over Rangers at Murray Park.

The young Irishman sustained a fractured tibia and fibula half an hour into the game following a crude challenge from a defender. Paul is currently in Glasgow´s Western Infirmary, but will hopefully be discharged tomorrow (Monday).

Everyone at Celtic wishes Paul well as he begins the long road to recovery.

Well looking forward to Sundays Cup semi-final now. I imagine we will likely go with the same lineup as won the league on Saturday. Maybe Rogne back in for Wilson at center back if he is fit but otherwise I would stay as we were at Kilmarnock. Should be a great atmosphere for this one.

Looks like Scott Brown is fit and will be ok for Sunday. Lets hope that is indeed the case and Brown really is good to go.

where do you guys buy any merchandise if you do buy it anywhere? iv been looking at Rhebel Rhebel, wondering if there was anywhere else that does some cheap tees and designs.

Well there's the obvious online option:
    http://celticsuperstore.co.uk/stores/celtic/default.aspx

and the store in Jervis St. Haven't personally bought anywhere else other than some bits and pieces at Nike outlet stores.

yeah i know what you mean regarding these stores for the official gear, buy off the official site each year, but for the more standard tee shirts that the club wouldn't actually endorse, the more risqué slogans on them so to speak

Head of referee development John Fleming says former grade one official Charlie Richmond's recent comments are "an affront" to the Scottish FA.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17672386
Scottish Football Association chief executive Stewart Regan rejects claims of cronyism made by disgruntled former referee Charlie Richmond.

    And a few weeks back

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17398419
Disillusioned Steve Conroy has quit as a top-class referee in Scotland.

The 45-year-old notified the Scottish Football Association of his decision to resign after being overlooked for a top-flight match for three months.

No surprise that the SFA resorted to typical bully tactics when someone criticises them. No chance of them taking a more proactive approach to addressing problems instead of waiting until people are caught out or a club rips their decisions apart using their own rulebook.

I dont think this is the last we'll hear of referees walking away.

Manager Neil Lennon believes Celtic's title-winning party at Kilmarnock last weekend will persuade Fraser Forster to make his move to Parkhead permanent.
"He knows we are very keen to get things tied up with him because he has had a fantastic two seasons here," said Lennon.

"The feeling he may have got on Saturday... I think it would be very difficult for him to leave here now."

"We are hoping to speak to his agent and Fraser himself in the next few weeks," added Lennon.

"He is making all the right noises at the minute so it is a case of getting things sorted out."

Just forge his fúcking signature already!! :pac:

Can't work out whats going on there, he's been there 2 years and still we talk about signing him only now it will possibly be more expensive if there isn't a price tag agreed. I think FF knew he was down the pecking order with Newcastle and still wants to play in premiership. I may be wrong.

I'd be surprised if we get him. Didn't really want him to stay last Summer but by God he's been class this year and now I'd love it if he stayed.

In two seasons here has a mistake he made cost us points?

Newcastle wouldnt consider selling him until he returned from loan for pre season assessment. He wasnt happy with all the changes that happened in his absence and it showed in his pre season form. Forster also stated that he doesnt want to stay at Newcastle. Celtic then were able to strike another loan deal with a fee agreed between the clubs.

Celtic wanted to sign him to a contract after january but Forster wants to wait until the end of the season when his position is strongest. I picked up alot of that info from an interview with Forster back in late january that was later taken off the club website.

He's a great signing at that price but i think we'll have plenty of competition for him come the summer.

I think it would be a big boost to Lenny if he signs, a sign that a player with EPL ambitions buys into his plans for the club.

Hopefully the chance of champions league football and being part of a young talented side can persuade him to sign.

"Beram will start full training on Monday, which will be fantastic news for ourselves and for him.

"It is a remarkable rehabilitation he's done," said manager Neil Lennon.

"We have missed him at times because he's such an important player to us."

"Mohamed Bangura is back training full time with the squad, which is great as he's been hampered with a knee injury," said Lennon.

"James is maybe doubtful for the rest of the season. We don't know yet.

"We'll just have to see how he reacts over the next few weeks."

"Lustig, I'd like to give him some game time before he goes away with Sweden," said the manager, who was delighted at the debut performance of 19-year-old Czech midfielder Filip Twardzik against Kilmarnock at the weekend.

"Brozek as well. He's been very patient and I think he's ready to play and there are a few other younger ones."

Injury and selection policy update for the champions.

Love to see Kayal get through 90 minutes before the end of the season. I didnt know Forrest was struggling with an injury. No need to risk him really and I hope to see all the fringe players get some decent game time before the Cup Final. Lennon should take advantage of having the league campaign done and dusted and have one eye on next season.

Well I for one certainly hope that after 2 good years at Celtic and now with the lure of Champions League football available we can persuade Forster to sign a long term deal. He has been excellent for us this season and when you consider how young a keeper he is if we were able to get him on a good deal say for 4 years that would be a real coup for us I feel.

I agree with you about Forrest. If there is any chance of getting a more serious long term injury don't push it. Could be a good opportunity to really have a look at Bangura and see if we should keep him or look to seel him in the summer.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17715387

Former Hamilton chairman Ronnie MacDonald says what he describes as "in-fighting in Scottish football" as "absolutely embarrassing".
"Everybody's at everybody else's throat. Nobody's speaking for the fan," MacDonald told BBC Scotland.

"What's happening to fans at various clubs just now is absolutely disgusting.

"Surely we can see Scottish football going down the pan. Where's the fun? On every front, we're under attack.

"The fun and the passion's gone out of football and all these politcal chairmen have kicked things about. 'Here's the chance, Rangers are down, let's get them'. It's absolutely pathetic.

"We've got a structure that works perfectly well. We've got expert people, we should listen to them.

"Every single agenda that's coming out is all about how it affects each individual club, which is nonsense. We've got to say, 'What is the best for Scottish football?'"

"I take the view that they're the chiefs, they set the map, we try to follow them and that's how business works," he said. "You get good people in and you take their advice.

"The situation we've got in Scottish football, and I include the Scottish Football League, is that they should be seen as the chiefs and point the way for us. We should take their advice and back them.

"Unfortunately, every chairman in the SFL and the SPL think that they're Chief Sitting Bull and that's the problems. We've got chiefs everywhere and not any Indians."

"I'm old fashioned," added MacDonald. "I believe, when you sit on the SPL board, what happens on the SPL board stays there. Others don't take that view.

"Everybody can give a bit and we can't have 10 people meeting in a room and leaving Celtic outside the room. We can't have discussions about whether Rangers' administrators can vote on something else.

"We all need each other and we've all got to give a bit, but we must get this sorted soon and there's got to be one league.

"The SFL is full of people that have also got interests and, if you put a mic in front of them or a photo opportunity, it makes their day. We've got to get away from this.

"The link between the fans and the club has been broken in many, many places.

"I think what's happening at Rangers, personally speaking, is disgusting; the way the fans have been left out of every decision-making process.

"Whether it's Rangers or Hearts or some of the other clubs that are rumoured to be in a state, I just think it's all wrong."

Whatever about Mulgrew, what about K. Wilson's start?

We can forgive Mulgrew when he can put in crosses like he does. ;)

Not great so far, a couple of good chances for Celtic, but some sloppiness from our defenders also. Hopefully it'll spring into life soon.

Best chance of the match there, Ki off the post. Some nice build up play, but Sammy is annoying me today - doing his running into opposition players bit again.

0-0 at HT, have to make more of the possession 2nd half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,553 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

thing is ive seen mulgrew do it too many times especially though. if he's awake wilson's scuffed backpass doesnt even happen. luckily elliot had the blinkers on.

given that hampden is a cinema at the best of times, hearts choking the game will put off people going there again in a hurry. dreadful showcase for scottish football.

sammy and hooper work too far apart and ki should have buried that header.
