Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Folks,

Sorry if this has been answered a million times but just a few questions:

Have a full car license for 2 years now, looking to do the bike test. I know I have to sit the Theory test for bikes, but do I now need to take lessons and minimum hours with the ADT scheme like cars? The Theory Test allows me up to 125cc (A1) is that correct for the purpose of learning?

With no experience, what is the best overall route to learn? Based in Dublin / Wicklow?

Investment wise, if I wanted to learn but also smartly invest for when (if) I pass the full test, what would be the best route? Or do I have to buy a 125cc and then upgrade? Can I restrict down to 125cc or equivalent?

    Thanks for the help!

This post might answer some or all of your questions -

Don't go down the road (sorry!) of an A1 licence unless you have to (I'm assuming you're over 18 as you've got a full car licence) - if you start with A1, you'll have to start all over again to move up to A category (including some IBT, another test and restricted bike after you pass). If you're over 18 go straight for the A category.
