    Did he run for Congress?

Yeah he did in Season 4, where he exited the show first. He loses that election and becomes a lawyer.

Well, goes back to being a lawyer.

    Loved that show.

Newsroom? S1 was on a par with TWW. Later series IMHO not so much.

It only came back to me when they played the audio of that.

Has anyone listened to the finale episode of the podcast? It's in my queue.

Yes, it's a two hour episode, it's OK, nothing special. I've probably enjoyed the podcasts of the live shows the least to be honest, particularly the ones recorded in front of overly excitable American audiences. They were obviously a real money spinner for the two lads though.

It was a pity they didn't go back and do one more studio podcast at the end after the live show to wrap the series up.

The penultimate podcast in London was so annoying I almost gave the last one a skip. Agreed it would have been much better to finish it in the studio.

How so? I don't have bother with most episodes as I was never hugely into the podcast. I'm about an hour into the finale.

    Reason enough to skip it.

I've not listened to the podcasts, I plan to, but I'd be more interested in listening to specific podcasts for iconic key episodes, like, say Two Cathedrals, than a podcast for every single episode. There's a few I think I would intentionally skip.

I have to agree the London episode was a let-down, a nice idea in theory to have so many of the cast there but as a podcast episode I thought it was one of the weaker ones (much like all the other live episodes); too many people involved, too much shrieking/applause from the audience, too much playing directly to the live audience etc.

A final wrap-up episode (in-studio) would have been a good way to end the series; they could have even themed it along the lines of 'how TWW or TWWW podcast affected Josh/Hrishi's lives' (groan) or even brought on a cast member (Bradley Whitford was regularly on the podcast) and talked about their life since TWW and how it affected them.

Anyway, overall I really enjoyed the podcast and will miss it. Must see what that Partners podcast is like.

Apologies. I meant the penultimate live episode in London. The signing was annoying the first time, then they kept doing it. Brilliant podcast overall though

    Michael O'Neill is so good.

He really, really is. I think I remember reading somewhere that he considered giving up acting at one stage as he wasn't getting enough work? What a loss that would have been.

Love Toby in that scene as well, falling over himself trying to take responsibility for what happened. You can see why Richard Schiff was so upset at the way he was written in the shuttle leak episodes - I can't imagine this Toby ever sitting by while CJ almost took the blame *if* he was the one responsible.

Feck it, I'm going to have to start a rewatch now, or a re-re-re-re-re-re-re-rewatch!

With the US presidential election coming makes me want to watch season 6/7 all over again.

Whenever I do a re-watch of TWW post season 5, I find myself skipping the episodes set in the White House and just focus on Vinick/Santos.

    The
godawful shuttle leak story, the ruining of Toby in general, Will/Kate relationship,
I found hard to watch. In fact the only ones I watch are
the nuclear accident and the Iran/British airliner incident
    .

I dont like the every other episode format, but actually prefer the Whitehouse based episodes.

I'm still convinced CJ was the leak but Toby fell on his sword.

    West Wing Reunion!

    https://tvline.com/2020/08/25/the-west-wing-reunion-original-cast-stage-version-hbo-max/

Don't get too excited...HBO Max will air a staged version of Hartsfield's Landing to support election participation. Better than nothing though. How will they handle Leo's bits? :(

Any reason for choosing that episode?

Because it's about a president running for reelection and getting the vote out?

But the last thing they want is a reelection. :)

Phew - thought I'd missed something, I was at the podcast too, did a little 'woohoo' when he mentioned it in the interview and a little sad face when he said 'the Isles' (at least that's what I think he said)

HBO Max have a reunion special episode of Hartsfield’s Landing on October 15th with the original cast reprising and Sterling K. Brown will play Leo.

    Must rewatch the episode beforehand.
Leo looking a bit different in this version. Unfortunately.

Think I said it when watching the series for the first time recently, it's just strange seeing Dule Hill in this after watching Psych beforehand.
    You know that's right!

Aaron and some of the cast were on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Friday. I would paste the YouTube links but too lazy to do it on my phone, so they're all at the before link

Who's aged best do we think?

For 80 years old Martin Sheen looks great!

Martin has the advantage of having the grey hair when it was on. I think if Allison wore a wig to match CJ's hair, she could get away with it.

If Allison dyed her hair she'd look fantastic.

Either way, I still would though.

TV is ****e tonight. I'm sticking on TWW. Only way to get quality television.

Wonder how the show would've turned out if they went with the original plan of the president only appearing occasionally and Rob Lowe being the lead

    Probably not 7 seasons.

The presidency is bigger than one man, as demonstrated when President Bartlett invoked the 25th amendment and John Goodman became the president.

I can't imagine it working if it was based around a senior staffer.

Did Rob Lowe leave because of money or this promise of him being the central character not happening?

Anyone else tempted to start it from the beginning all over again after all this reminiscing? It really is one of the all time greats

Easiest way to stream it in Ireland?

My wife was only asked me after watching the episode last night to start at the beginning AGAIN. Must be fifth or sixth time now.
It doesn't appear to be streaming anywhere at the moment. Used to be on Sky but went off it a long time ago and never came back. I have the DVD box set but no DVD player other than in the kids xbox in another room.

Pity no streaming service seems to have it here.
