Things aren't going to plan today but I reckon this lad is a great bet, a 0 to 70 5f HC on GF and the selection is topweight off 70. Lto came shd 2nd off 70 in a 0 to 75 5f HC on GF, also came 2nd off 73 in a 0 to 85 5f HC.

However when one is having a sh1tter one has a sh1tter :rolleyes:
Still though, see no reason why he's this big a price.

A non runner so 3 of the 7 placed on Betfair hence the seemingly short price, it's a 0 to 95 over 10f and he's rated 92, lto in a 0 to 100 he was beaten 2.25l by a 95 rated rival crossing the line a nose behind the 89 rated 2/1 fav. On the bare figures he has a great chance, but 2 to 1 on tbp is not value, even with 3 places up for grabs.

Number of non runners, 4tbp on Betfair. This yoke is fancied as it stayed on in an 8f race, a bit if and but for my liking so I'm laying it. Woeful race this is.

Worthy fav, 6f 0 to 65 HC on GF, selection won a similar race in Newcastle off 60, beating the evens fav topweight fav. Decent form, this is a poor race, clear ice has never won on turf and the rest look not too attractive to back.

lto effort suggests that 6f is not this horses ideal trip, now I can't find anything in the field that seems overly capable at 6f either but the best of a bad lot at that price is a lay for me.

2.15 Ripon Kimbali 2.06 €5.00 wasn't overly impressive lto, market reckons he'll improve though. I think the weather there won't help him and the ground seems softer than GF, another lay.

2.20 Newbury Deacon Blues 1.67 €4.00 laid tbp

Just don't think this lad is remotely classy enough for this. Too big to lay to win though in saying that.

2.35 Ripon Wild Coco 1.82 €4.00 laid

Same as above lay, don't think this one is good enough amongst these, price well worth opposing. On ratings it's 10th of 11.

2.55 Newbury Belle Royle

No bets placed as yet as I imagine they'll be getting bigger on Betfair closer to the off, currently 2.9 place and 10.0 win.

Really fancy this ones chances here off 91, lto in a 0 to 95 HC over 8f the selection camea neck 2nd off 89 to the 9/4 fav who was rated 86. 1 length clear of the 3rd horse, raised 2lbs for that. Goes on GF but won't mind if the going is easier.

3 runs ago won a 0 to 105 8f off 95, then contested a o to 110 off 98, finished well down the field but only beaten 7l. lto was over 9f so I'm not bothered with that form ,weakened 1f out though which is nice.

This is a fairly woeful 0 to 100 hc, conditions and trip suit this one, way up in class compared to previous efforts but I think this lot are awful and the place price is very decent.

Well it was Sunday the 19June I started this log, with a modest bank, 4 weeks on and the running total is +€435.15.

Daily totals are fairly meaningless at the lark, monthly (4 weeks to be precise) are better me thinks. At the beginning of my punting career (not far off 9 years ago now) I used to hanker after a daily profit, not the way to go, bookies dream having punters like that.

Fingers crossed the next 4 weeks are good too. I'm unlikely to have any more bets this evening but if I do the above total will be amended.

First positive is he's the only one of the field to have an 8f win to his name. ~That was in a 7 to 75 HC off 72, raised to 75 lto he didn't do too well in a 0 to 85 but he was hampered one furlong out.

Fav (Inglebee Exceed) is quite a worthy fav, raised 6lbs for a 7f 0 to 75 win, stayed on really well and won easy. Theoretically 8f should be no bother and a 6lb rise is not an issue either, but the step up in trip along with the 6lbs rise might be.
