    3.25 Sandown Ex Oriente 6.6 €6.00 backed.

Awful race, not much to go on, perhaps the GS ground stopped this lad getting home on his debut when fav.

Small bit on the place too as a stakesaver (not even a stakesaver really)...

    Ex Oriente 2.22 €4.00

3.35 Don Dubai Dynamo 1.91 €10.00 laid to be placed.

In a great run of form but I feel it's within the HCers grasp now so laying it to be placed. CD form reads as follows 8,7,3,1. The victory being in a 0 to 95 HC (same as this) off 75 way back in 2007.

Haydock 18.45 Alis Aquilae 2 €10.00 to be placed and to win Alis Aquilae 4.9 €10.00

Beaten only 1 and 1/4 l in a 0-95 handicap back in July last year off 75, goes off 74 today, though finished 6th that day the proximity to the 5 ahead is significant me thinks.

This Haydock race is 0 to 75.

    8.00 Beverley Judicious 5.5 €10.00 backed

I don't think he's unreasonably handicapped, I reckon the ground was the reason lto didn't go too well, fading in the final furling, back here over 10f on good to firm should suit.

    8.15 Haydock Voodoo Prince 3.9 €5.00 laid.

First try at 10f, was it the ground or the step up to 9f foiled lto's effort? Who knows, there is stamina in the breeding but I prefer judging horses on what they've shown.

9.15 Hay Dark Dune 13.2 €4.00 to win
Dark Dune 3.65 €10.00 to be placed

Only beaten 1/2l over 14f at Nottingham on GF, same trip today and only raised 3lbs. That form puts him right up there with the fav, can't lay the fav as there are hundreds and thousands of betting office dwellers willing him on no doubt, last race.

More to win on him 13.5 €3.69 :)

I just use http://www.racingpost.com/, I wouldn't go into a huge amount of detail/research for a bet, I like handicaps and ratings and the horses signs of a preference for going and trip :)

I stopped actually reading racing correspondents views and tips a good while ago as I found they put me off more of my own selections that won with their babble. I'd still read a bit of racing stuff but not in races I'd intend having a bet on.

Wow thats amazin for a days work mate ;)
It's probably your best one on this log aswell.
Keep up the good work and youl be rich before you know it :D

Thank you, I wouldn't be aiming to win anywhere near that though on a day, just had a fancy for Dark Dune, my intention with this log was to keep it slow and steady etc. Tomorrow I'll be laying 2/1 shots for €5 and putting €4 on 9.0 handicap fancies as usual :) As well as the odd place bet and lay.

Before today the to date total was +€107.22 which I was happy with considering the small stakes.

Fingers crossed I can keep this up.

    ..........

I also did 6 hours of actual work today and serviced the car in between bets this evening !!

You have the right idea anyway keepin to small stakes and its obviously workin for you.
I find your log quite interestin cause its different than the normal ones we have here.
I could see your confidence in Dark Dune after you went back in with more money on it

That was actually a mistake to be honest, only intended on having €4 win on him :p

Glad to hear it's interesting some folk, I should really update the horses finishing places, but on a bad day 'twould depress the arse off me :pac:

2.35 Sandown Start Right 2.32 €10.00 laid for the place.

2011 to date form reads 6 - 3 - 4, races of this class, not a 2.32 shot to be placed in my view, more importantly in lengths behind the winner it read 7 1/4 - 3 1/4 - 3/4, so I'm laying him.

2.25 Leicester Artists Corner 1.8 €12.00 laid for the place.

After two absolutely woeful runs, as bad as this race is he couldn't be backed with any confidence. Pity he's not 2.5 ish to win on the machine.

    :D Artists Corner 2.58 €5.00 laid

didn't fancy that Gobher anyway :pac::pac:

Have you considered using http://www.olbg.com/ to log your bets, it quite handy for a review of history by bet type/months/profit/LSP/ROI/strike rate and so on. Its where I'm logging my own "virtual lays". Updated overnight.

    3.35 Bev
    Polish World 4.1 €5.0 laid.

Won a 0-70 GC on good to firm 12 months ago off 63 when 11/10 fav, up to 75 now and even though he's topweight I think he is well within the grasp of the HCer.

Saharia 2.62 €10.0 to be placed, down in grade with this crowd, tempting.

backed, listed races not my thing, banker on the ratings though, tbp

    3.55 Haydock High Standing 3.65 €6.00 backed

Has won better 6f races than this on similar ground, many blots on the form but many runs on soft and on longer trips too in much classier races.

4.05 Beverley Another Wise Kid 4 €4.0 laid

I reckon this lad is up against it here, my fancy would be the topweight but I can't back that one with confidence so I'm happy enough to lay this one.

    4.15 Sandown Nahrain 1.78 €5.00 laid

Great form obviously but rated 102, Cape Dolar is 103 and Cochabamba is 104. Still only risking €4, wouldn't back any of the three tbh.

The numbers before the * are the rating, he's 81 today, the 7f turf form hasn't gotten him to 81.
