Did anyone see the National Bike week event in Eyre Square Saturday?

I thought it was pretty cool. like the lads ramping into the big air cushion. Was nice atmosphere about and the jazz music was class.

Bit of a pity i thought that the riders coming from cork arrive late prob due to the wind but alot of the displays had been cleared by the time of their arrival.

Anyhow was good i thought to see something like that in the city.

Events in Galway Wednesday 22nd June
    1. It is cycle to work/school day

    2. The Green schools are running a beauty and the bike workshop for teachers

    3. Lunchtime Cycling Skills Workshop
1-2pm in the Large Acoustic Room of the Students Union
Cycling is increasingly popular among adults. Many would like to participate in this healthy and fun activity, but feel unsure and discouraged by traffic and other obstacles. You may want to cycle more and become a more confident cyclist. Join us for a free Cycling Skills Workshop, run by certified bicycle instructor, Oisin Ó Nidh. This workshop is provided to prepare NUI Galway staff and students to become more aware of cycling on the road, and how to keep safe and healthy on the road. Members of the public can also drop in.

    4. Galway Chamber of Commerce. Presentation for Chamber members on Cycle Champions and Bike Parking projects at Galway Chamber Offices, Merchants Road.

Has anyone been to Eyre Square, are they offering free bike check-ups this year?

Apparently on Sunday, there is a family treasure hunt by bike in Renmore from 2pm - 5pm (starting from soccer club). Also, they are shutting down some streets in Salthill so people can go biking in peace....

I so posted that on Sunday
Launched in Eyre Square yesterday with a real family feel..free coke cans , also there was some live band music, an outdoor movie, bmx ramps/tricks and general biking stuff.
Lots of free stuff on all week including:

Slow bike race at the Spanish Arch today @ 3pm
Bike rental in Eyre Square 10-4 each weekday, I assume the first hour is free if it's like last year.
Family cycling treasure hunt on Sunday 26th
Cycle to work day is Wednesday 22 June, so I expect to see our vocal motorist boardsies to mount a saddle and navigate through our delightful roundabouts
