EDL attack independent music venue

    On Saturday 18th of June, a group of approximately 15 youths affiliated with the EDL (English Defence League) barraged the small independent music venue 'The Well' with rocks and glass bottles in a demonstration against a punk alldayer for anti-racism/fascism.

    The group have caused hundreds of pounds of damage upon the venue and surrounding businesses. One man was taken to hospital with a considerably bust up face and one barman has a dodgy wrist from deflecting a missile whilst on the phone. Luckily nobody else was hurt.

    A few of the youths have been caught by the police and the rest are being searched after.

    The gig continued regardless and in defiance to these events.
