Nerd fact of the day -- the E38 "735i" in The Transporter was actually a 750i... with a manual box. Must've been a hoot to drive.

Just to add to the mix, the 750s in Tomorrow Never Dies were actually 740s, x16 of them in fact. Just two remain as far as I know, one privately owned and the other in a museum.

They actually have a V12 sound to them in fairness, dubbed no doubt. Presumably it was cheaper to destroy V8s than V12s. :)

So the moral OP is you should have by all means bought the 760 but you needed to budget for drilling a few holes in the exhaust backbox:D

Probably wasnt the real engine note. They dub in more exciting engine notes that keep pace with the action in pretty much all movies where you notice the engine/exhaust noise.

The kids wouldn't go hungry. You go could buy them breakfast rolls in the petrol station because you would be visiting there so often!! :D

That's gas, I was watching that film last week and I saw him changing gear and I called bull**** because there's no way they ever made a 735 manual, if they did, boo urns.

Bo-urns indeed, there are plenty of manual E38s around Europe. It was an option on all models, just very very rare.

It's the 725tds drivers I worry about. 9000 of them produced. If I ever see one, I think I may try to perform a citizen's arrest and have the driver committed.
