Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Portable meal feeder

I am interested in getting a portable meal feeder. Something on wheels that would would hold 3 - 4 tonnes and maybe feed 16 to 20 big cattle at a go. I know O Neills do them but my budget isn't up to scratch at the minute for the price of one of them. I want to also be able to regulate the amount of feed as opposed to feeding ad lib. Does anyone know where an alternative make of feeder could be got? Or does anyone know of a second hand model that could be got somewhere? Have tried the donedeal etc with very little success. Or has anyone got any suggestions to an alternative device to help with the feeding? The days of lugging buckets of feed across fields are running out!!:D
    Thanks in advance ;)

A mobile feeder to feed 20 big cattle at the same time. Even if you could get one it would be fairly costly as it would have to be at least 20 feet long with troughs at both sides allowing 20 cattle to eat at one time.

Would it be possible to mount a plastic storage container, like the JFC ones, inside a feed trailer? Just hop into the trailer then and fill the troughs from the container. You wouldnt be able to drive it into land though unless you had large tyres. You could pick up a feed trailer for 1000 Euro.
