    Core 2 Quad Q9300 2.50GHz LGA775 FSB1333 6Mb

budget I'd be will to spend 50-60 if its a good one

I doubt I 'll be OCing but can't rule out that I may in future

what would ye make of this one?

If you have the room for it that noctua cooler is a beaut and nice quiet fans too.

bargin going on at the minute on a corsair a50:

    http://www.dabs.ie/products/corsair-air-series-a50-performance-cpu-cooler-73G2.html?refs=4294946930

one of the best air coolers i've worked with and it's really quiet plus that antec cooler you posted would be too much over kill if your not overclocking.

If you are going to go for a sealed liquid cooler i'd reccomend the Corsair H50/70.

I'd take the Noctua all day long over the Corsairs. Better cooling and much quieter. The pump on those Corsairs are supposed to be noisy buggers.

I don't think I'd have the room for it,it looks huge

    Thats a good bargain alright

I'd have to take my motherboard out though wouldn't I to fit it?

That would depend on your case, some cases have access to the the back of the mobo for this very reason.

Ouch, you need to get some cable management going methinks :P

Yeah, you'll need to take out the motherboard to put in a new heatsink.

The a50 from dabs looks like a great deal, and should fit in the case. What make/model is it?

Yeah, just want to look up the specs to see how large a heatsink it can take. It looks fine though from the pics.

You know I think I'm just gonna go for one of these

    http://www.elara.ie/productdetail.aspx?productcode=MMEV930672

The thought of taking everything has put me off :(

Well I would recommend taking the motherboard and cables out anyway and doing some cable management/tidying.

wouldn't recommend those coolers at at beings that there noisey as hell and break hella easily, you can get decent cpu coolers that uses push pins like those generic ones if you want to have a look at them?

    heres one of them: http://www.pixmania.ie/ie/uk/3256264/art/cooler-master/hyper-tx3-cpu-fan.html

plus i'm pretty sure theres alot more that uses them

Looking at your case with the 120mm fan at the back i'd be willing to bet the d14 would fit and anything smaller would also. Only problem with it and most decent coolers is you would have to remove the motherboard to fit it but at least once its in the it will be near silent and very cool running
