Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was considering taking a week out to go around tasting beers.

Any ideas on what would be some of the best cities/places to go for this?

    Belgium maybe or?

The problem with Belgium, I find, is that there's often very little to be found beyond Belgian beer.

My favourite drinking city in Europe is Amsterdam. There's one specialist Dutch beer bar (Arendsnest), one specialist American beer bar (Beer Temple), two brewpubs, quality Belgian beer all over the place and two world-class off licences.

Copenhagen is fantastic too if you're prepared to pay top-dollar for really rare and interesting stuff. And London has come on leaps and bounds in the last couple of years, with The Rake and The White Horse now joined by The Euston Tap, Cask in Pimlico, and the Draft House chain. Decent beer is very easy come by, but like in Copenhagen you have to put your hand in your pocket for the rarities.

Actually, into Brussels (Moeder Lambic, Bier Circus), two days in Antwerp (Kulminator, Bier Central), three days in Amsterdam (Arendsnest, Wildeman, 't IJ, Gollem, Café Belgique, Bekeerde Suster, Beer Temple) and out of Schiphol is an easy enough week. One of the advantages of the Low Countries is just how easy it is to get around.

If you're interested in going to the US, Seattle has some delicious local beers/ales, and even a nice-ish stout called Irish Death :). And oddly for the US the bars seem to mainly do the local beers with only the odd tap for Coors/Bud/etc.
