Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Fun Roads

    Hey,

Just thought I'd make a thread about roads that you like to go for an afternoon ride on/roads you commute on.

Personally I tend to go for a ride down in Enniskerry. I go through Lamb's Cross and then down passed the Ritz hotel (great straight there btw). There's some great bendy roads after that.

If you turn left at the Texaco, there's then a series of deathtrap roads. Beware these! Literally had to slow to about 10 km/h at one stage because the road was just so bad. Aside from that all the turns are incredibly blind with barely enough room for a car (or a massive SUV) and a bike (nevermind 2 cars).

Then if you turn left over the bridge just before Enniskerry town, there's a few more lethal roads there too, but eventually you'll come out to some nice ones again. Usually I go on the N11 a bit, then turn around to come home.

Just wondering if anyone else here rides around there, I've seen a lot of bikers around that area.

never been on it with my bike but, most of the n56 in donegal is savage!, and around the national park there too. went for a long weekend in the cage with the misses last feb/march and love driving all around the area.

Did Cavan to Sligo a good few times over the last six weeks. Belcoo to Sligo bit is nice.
Then the Sligo to Donegal roads is very nice.

Adare to kilarney is another fab road to drive on.

A guy on a rideout with the Dublin Crusiers was killed on the road to Enniskerry. I believe the club broke up not long after it, whether it was because of the accident or other issues I don't know.

Dungarvan to Tramore Coast Road is epic!

Also Clonmel to Lemybrien/Comeraghs is also worth a gawk.

N59 Sligo to Ballina, short but sweet.

I ride half that every day. Some decent corners on it and traffic is scarce enough most of the time.

Took a nice spin the other day from Sligo down to Tubbercurry, across the back roads to Ballina, in the N59 to Dromard, across the mountains to Coolaney and back into Sligo. Decent route with a little bit of every kind of road.
