Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Well I suppose it depends on a lot of factors?

Are you likely to get another job?
Do you want to continue working in whatever area of the country you are in?
Can you live on that amount of money per week?
Is your subject area one where there are likely to be jobs?

My advice, take it, hand and all!!!
€350 per week is much better than the dole payment.
I'm sure the hours could be increased with subbing.
    The experience will be invaluable.
I have family on the job hunt this year and am shocked at the lack of jobs even for teachers with "in-demand" subjects.

Ya with subbing i should get a bit extra and a few grinds should make it ok. Suppose it makes sense to take it. It is difficult out there at the moment.

Also, assuming you've been on your own hours in the school for the past 3 years, it's one step closer to a CID.

Take it. Three letters CID. Keep applying though in case anything comes along.

    Take it.
Main thing if you want to teach is to remain in teaching.
I understand it's pretty poor money for your qualifications but it's teaching hours, and that's like rocking horse manure atm, as I'm sure you're aware.

I'd say dont bother for that money, CID's are wayyy overrated too. You should just bide yer time for a few days till you see the perfect permanent job and then apply for it. Dilemma solved.

    What's yer story franktennis?

I have to assume you're being sarcastic!

OP, I'd bite their hand off! It may only be 14 hours now, but in reality, you'll probably pick up subbing and resource classes (make sure to tell the school you're interested). As others have said, you'll be working your way up to a CID. In the current jobs' climate, you'd be mad not to.

Yes, should have used the roll eyes there, that's the strangest post i've seen in a while.
Just wondering franktennis what alternatives are you considering if you don't take the job.
