Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone know how much it should cost to fence 145 metres of river (3 rows of barbed wire and an electric wire) ? materials and labour ?

Are you allowed to combine barbed wire and electric? Something about getting stuck on the barbed and not being able to get free because of getting shocks off the electric?

(cue 1000 replies about how they have it done with no problems:))

You could be right but with or without the electric, has anyone done it recently and know what sort of cost it would be ?

you would be lookin at around 3.50 a metre for 3 barbed and 1 electric couldnt see much point in the electric if you use h/t barbed wire 3.50 should include materials labour and vat

Approx 4 per metre plus vat, dont forget you will need straining posts also, generally charged at 25 each, at start and finish and every turn or 50m. If along a river mind the ground could be wet, longer posts may be needed, allow another 20c per metre if ground is wet! Happy fencing

Slightly off topic but if you read The Restraint Of Beasts by Magnus Mills you'll see how much fencing could potentially cost....

dont think your allowed electrify barb wire.
I dont see any problem with an electrified plain wire offset from the barb
