I drove into the back of a BMW X5 doing 5mph with a hitch in stop start traffic and scratched the bumper, it was a brown one with a black bumper

i had to get a new frount for mine due to the hitch, even with the hitch i didn't burst my radiator

my boonett was openable and closeable even after the bang, and my car frount panel was straightenable

it scratched the black paintwork on the bumper it wasn't even out of shape

anyway the cost to do the BMW was 4.5k 2008 which my insurance company coughed up without a second thought,

found out after the owner of the BMW was a garage man so would have been an expert at making money out of insurance

I think the bumpers on a Superb have an energy absorbing foam behind the plastic. While you could push out the plastic, you won't be able to re-form the foam - hence why it needs a new bumper.

    I could be wrong, though.

    What's your friend driving?

Matching white is not a huge problem really.

He was driving a Nissan GTR (and dropping 2 of his kids to school when he had the accident). I've seen the invoices so I know it's true. His was the 5th or 6th UK spec model so the bumper too ages to arrive as well as they were only gearing up at that stage. His wife hated the car so I think it's fair to say that he took no little pleasure in the tip (kids were out of the car before the incident). After getting it fixed, some scrote keyed each body panel on both sides. Luckily for him, he was emigrating so he did not have to suffer the inevitable future insurance increase. Monstrous sounding engine but I have to say I didn't like it as a car.

Who said Japanese cars were cheap to fix?

    Fair enough.
