so i keep getting disconnected for a few minutes at a time, every 45 mins- 60 mins. i recently upgraded to 24mb but my line can only handle 12mb. i think that the router may be the problem as i didn't have this problem before on my netopia 3347WG. But as it does not support ADSL2+ i had to get upgraded to those toys they call routers/modem Zyxel P-660HW-T1 v3. i am connected via ethernet cable to the computer. any help appreciated as i seem to get disconnected at the worst time when i'm gaming. eircom were unable to help me on this matter as they think the line is fine.
my line stats are as follows:

    Line State Up
    Modulation ADSL2+
    Data Path Interleave

    Downstream Upstream
Max Allowed Speed (kbps) 12285 668
    SN Margin (dB) 12.00 21.20
    Line Attenuation (dB) 34.00 16.00
    CRC Errors 14 0

eircom can throttle your line using 'profiles' suited to it. Try a 14mbit profile and if that does not work perfectly ( but improves matters) then ask for a 12mbit profile. In extremis a stable 10mbit may be best.

try asking in the eircom forum where they seem to understand these things better than the gobdaws on the phone.

thanks for the reply ill give that a try. anyway as i look at my stats today my speed seems to have dropped and i've no idea why. anyone know if this is normal? seems a bit strange to me.

    Line State Up
    Modulation ADSL2+
    Data Path Interleave

    Downstream Upstream
Max Allowed Speed (kbps) 11607 668
    SN Margin (dB) 10.50 20.60
    Line Attenuation (dB) 34.00 16.00
    CRC Errors 11 0

EDIT: my net seems to be a bit all over the place atm

    1354532157.png

and now my stats have moved back to:

    DSL Mode: ADSL2+
    Speed: 12287 kbps /670 kbps
    Line Attenuation (Down/Up): 35 dB /17 dB
DSL Noise Margin: 11 dB /18 dB
