Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey guys,
Gauging interest in an early morning BJJ class starting at 7/730 ending at 830AM. Targeted towards people going to work in town and other early risers!

My question is would anyone on this forum be interested?

Wednesday seems like a good day for this, what would suit you?

    Is the time ok?

Class will begin in 2 weeks depending on interest.

    Cheers

€10 is perfect, as is 7.30am on either a Tues/Wed/Thurs.

    I'm in

    Good stuff guys,

    10 euro drop in fee or 79 euro monthly membership/ 69 student/unemployed.

    Always open to beginners:)

great to see so many early risers for BJJ!:)

Teusday or wednesday seems like the best option, once we have enough data between this and the survey at the gym we can make a decision:)

Would definitely be up for this.
would go 5 days a week!
I know a few lads who are not on this
that would be up for it too.

I'm up for this any morning. 7 or 7.30
    would be fine.
I know two more lads that would also come along.

I'D BE WELL UP FOR THIS 5 DAYS A WEEK.
CAN NEVER GET TRAINING BECAUSE I WORK LATE SO THIS WOULD BE AWESOME.

Is there showers? I'm going to be cycling to Vincents afterwards and would rather shower in the club than up in the hospital.

    Great idea btw.

Well there goes my chance of getting to the hospital by nine anyway! Any day suits me at the moment. I'd say it'll be drop in once a week or so until I have money (and time!) to join up properly in late Aug/Sept.

Let me know if this thing takes off.

what format will the classes take?

    is it gi or no-gi?

    beginners or intermediates or mixed?

will there be tutorial and then sparring or just tutorial?

can people stay afterwards for sparring?

sorry for all the questions, just excited to get the oportunity to train again!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,192 ✭✭✭Dathai

Been doing 12 hour days in work the past few months so no BJJ for me. Back to normal hours this week so should be back down!

Any of the mornings would be grand for myself, but wednesday and thursday would be perfect.

I'll keep an eye on this and the FB group!

    Gi is encouraged but optional.

    Mixed levels

Classes will be structured the same way as all SBG BJJ classes.
technique, progresive resistance drills, specific sparring.

The gym is open from 12-9 during the week, the early morning class will be within the time slot. (there will be time aloted to sparring)

The class will start on Wednesday 6th of July, from 7:30 until 8:45.

Hope to see you all there:)

    Joey

I'm going to be making it to this class from next week, should be cool

  • Registered Users Posts: 754 ✭✭✭ryoishin

    I was there (John).

    There was 4 of us.

We did a sweep and bulit a submission game off the sweep depending on how the opponent reacted.

2 of us had to leave the mat by 8:30 so did nt get to roll.

    Nice place.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 525 ✭✭✭da-bres

Yeah only the four of us today, hoping for twice that next week.

After the two lads left myself and David stayed on rolling.

Thanks to the lads who came out.

Felt great to roll so early:)

for anyone looking for early morning training, legions in ranelagh train 7am-8am monday wednesday and friday.
trained with them this morning, was a great class.
there wasn't many there so it was nearly like a private lesson with a black belt!
for all you lads who wanted early morning classes here is your chance, so you need to get your asses out of bed early and get down!!
feels great to roll early in the morning!
i don't live that close to ranelagh (fairview) but at that time in the morning with no traffic it only takes 15 minutes.

Just for anyone else who wants to train early in the mornings... if you could pick up some coffee, danish and a newspaper and bring them to my gym after you're done that would be great.

    I won't be there til 11 though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 375 ✭✭kdowling

is this early morning class still happening?
