Yeah, French electrics they just seem to give up to easily :D.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,344 ✭✭✭gollywog

    Yeah they do.

I'm going to quote Curran's post from BMW-Driver to save me writing the same thing a different way :D

Thanks for that :) The reason I'm asking is I heard the products I used are better on darker colours. My car is silver, so was curios what would work best

There are waxes or sealants made specifically for light coloured cars. I can't think of what it's called but it's made by the same company who make Black Hole.

Anyway here's what I was bawling about earlier on:

    photo2tm.jpg

No prizes for guessing which one is new :P

There's a lot more air getting into the turbo faster now. As you can see, the neck of the old one is almost pinched shut whereas the new one is the same with the whole way down.

It was at the rubber coupling that the air was leaking under boost due to the rubber being auld and rotten. No more leak :D

My all terrains turned up for the Caravelle. Also the right hand outer CV-joint needed doing.

    179503_10150927138798682_1871396475_n.jpg

And while we're at it, I have this skid pan flying about for a while. Compared to the normal VW mud guard, this protects the oil sump also and it's 2mm steel plate, powdercoated. So a rock will not even have a chance at buggering stuff up.

And my Yokohama Geolander All Terrains in 235/60/16 fit on 16" Borbet A alloys.

Next up is the offroad suspension.

No, but i put on two layers of jet seal about three weeks ago and i've done hefty mileage since and it's still beading well.

Oh, I also discovered what's wonderful for removing the gick that SRP leaves behind. Autoglym Instant show shine (basically rapid detailer), should just be called AG Gick Remover.

Also I'm never using SRP again >.<

I have blacklight and v7 vectra.
    Any other recommendations??
Have a bit of money to spare!

My latest I have tried and would work on your car also is an old favourite.
    Collinite 845.
Nice slick finish with a certain amount of depth of shine which is hard on white or silver. Also very durable.
Jetseal 109 is meant to be powerful stuff

Great reports about that. Never did try it but apparently is a little like CG Blitz which I have used and loved. Jetseal would be more durable as well
    gollywog wrote: »
Ya was looking that up just last night, it's meant to last for ages... Must try some. Do you guys know if certain waxes suit certain colours better?

Finish Kare 1000p is great wax on light colors.
The Collinite 845 is only around 20 yoyo and last for ages as a little goes a long way and is by far the easiest wax I have used so far.

    Thanks Vectra,
The colinite looks worth a shot as its very reasonable.

With a lot of cars these days, changing foglight bulbs entails taking off the front wheels and wheel arch liner just to get access to them. After that, it's usually a twist-out, take out bulb, re-fit. This part of the job can be very fiddly though depending on how much room you have to work with.

Once you mentioned wheels that was enough for me no chance I'll be attempting that.
I'm still beaming with pride after fitting on chrome strips to the front grille which was a big deal for me

Myself and misses were going for a spin and i put the shoe down after leaving a junction and "Bang" hisssssssssssssss...

New it wasn't the turbo but still.

Got home, one of the pipes of the intercooler came off, jubilee clip, job done.

Changed the oil while the under cover was off, sorted for another few months i hope.
