Dunnes don't stock it, they only do the main three:
    Howling gale
    Sunburnt Irish red
    Knockmealdown porter

Dunnes in the St. Stephen's Green Shopping Centre don't have any of the 8 Degrees range in stock, should anyone be planning a trip.

You'd have to go somewhere specialist for it.
Places like drink store had it. They possibly still do, haven't had a need to go there recently!:(
Best bet would be too ring around some of the specialist offlicences in your county.
Dublin seemed to get the most of the kindreds.

I saw a crate of Kindred Spirit in Bradley's North Main Street Cork last weekend, haven't tried it myself yet!

Dunnes are doing 5 for a tenner on a selection of 500ml bottled craft and world beers including the O'Hara's range, Fullers, Staropramen, some Wychwood beers, Zywiec, and tons more. Was delighted to wander in to pass a little time and end up leaving with a few €2 bottles of O"Hara's IPA :D

More of a request than anything.

Heading to Indiependence in a week. As it's a festival it's cans only so was wondering if there's any places that'll do a decent offer on a slab of good lager/ale.

Probably a long shot but figured this would be the best place to ask.

    Thanks in advance.

Drinkstore.ie do discounts on everything when you order in tray quantities (I'm not sure if you need to order online or can you do it in store). The often have other specials too that are worth keeping an eye for.

The Asia Market on Drury St (Dublin) has a few Asian beers on special: €1.50 for 330ml bottle.

    - Tsingtao (China)
    - Chang (Thailand)
    - Cass Lager (S. Korea)

I got one each of the first two, skipping the Cass. Probably a good move, if the ratings are any guide. I've had Tsingtao before, a long time ago, no bad memories. Chang is new to me, but I see there's a thread about it already. ("Changover"?). I'll try that first, get it out of the way. :P

It's reduced to clear because they want rid if it. It was a bit of a disaster for Diageo. Pure muck.

seen tesco Dun Laoghaire pushing it yesterday, considered it for a few seconds before common sense kicked in

Where do you get your information? It has nothing to do with Heineken (which is Dutch). It is from Alken-Maes (Belgian).

    Heineken own the brewery.

    Heineken own the brewery.

Is it? It must have lost a lot of its original beers replacing them with coloured water, much like the Heineken pilsener.

    Internet.

Go to http://www.alken-maes.be/. Go through the age checker and have a look at what it says at the bottom right of the homepage.
    bigar wrote: »

Alken-Maes was formerly owned by Scottish & Newcastle. S&N was jointly acquired by Carlsberg and Heineken in 2008. Heineken got Alken-Maes in the subsequent carve-up. That's all from the Internet too.

The price for that has gone up, possibly reflecting increased excise, but Dunnes did it last year for €9. Nice wine, though.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,966 ✭✭✭✭syklops

Yeah if your buying wine in cartons or cheap bottles, definitely decant it. Your guests will think it is expensive wine and enjoy it more, plus most wines benefit from breathing a little.

You could go the whole way and leave on the table a "fake" receipt for a really expensive bottle of wine and they'll _LOVE_ it.

Not sure how long it's running for or if it's in all stores but Tesco in Mahon Point are doing a 3 for €7 on certain beers (500ml bottles). Picked up 2 Proper Job and a London Pride and looking forward to sampling them after work tomorrow night!
