    Hi all,

I have graduated this year with a BSc in Computer Forensics. I don't want to go into the forensics field and I really didn't overly enjoy the course but I have an idea of what I want to do.

I love working with computers when it comes to building/modding and fixing them, but it seems difficult to find that in a job description. I have been looking everywhere I can think of but all I ever seem to find is companies seeking programmers/developers.

I have targeted the likes of Aria, Ebuyer, Dabs and NCIX in Canada for jobs. NCIX actually have what seems to be the perfect job as "In store technician". The problem I am finding is that they all don't really seemed bothered about the degree but more so want experience which I lack "officially" in this area.

Can anyone offer advice as to how I could get into this area and possible roles I could be looking for?

Does anyone also know of any other big companies like Aria, Ebuyer etc that exist in Canada/Australia that I could apply for?

    Thanks for your help,
    Baz

I'm really not 100% sure - can you explain to me a little bit more about what you want to do?

You could go to a recruitment company that specialise in IT (like Manpower) and ask them what they'd fit you for?

I would imagine there are roles out there that would suit you, there is loads in Paddy Power, Facebook, Google around Risk & Fraud with money and credits, tho I am not sure how much of a layover with forensics that'd have..!?

First step for you is to gain the CompTIA + certification.
Any technician job will want that as standard, even just to "prove" your ability in the area.

If you are on the dole, you can sign up to do it free with FAS. Online or with classes.

Sounds like it's experience you are lacking, why not go and work for a smaller company, put in a few years there and then try again with the big boys.
