    Hi all,

My mercedes c200 cdi (05) needs a new passenger side front ball joint, quote 280 fitted from the merc garage.

Does this sound reasonable or should I be looking elsewhere?

    thanks in advance...

you will get a better price from an indi garage who will be charging about half the price of mercedes for hourly labour

Are you sure its a ball joint and not an adjustable bearing? You can adjust the bearing handy enough.

im not sure at all, this is just what the mercedes garage told me, does it sound like an unlikely part to go?

They can go yes, if the Mercedes guys diagnosed it well then its gone. I assumed maybe you checked it yourself. I just said adjustable bearing because they can give similar symptoms like knocking etc.
