Gig, in my opinion started out fairly tame - but WTSHNN really gets it goin....... tune still gives me goose bumps.
I tell ya, showing my age here, but much happier watching this on BBC HD with the surround sound and a few cans in a nice warm house beats the hell outta a live gig in that weather.

    Ditto here

I will follow got me moving,

BBC are only showing highlights from the day and a bit of the gig, Setanta Sports are showing their full performance from 10 till 12..

Thank you so much for this info. Great tip off

U2 stripped back. No claw, no elaborate light show or stage show. This is the group I fell in love with back in the early 80's. Bloody brilliant, with a great set list so far.

Now if only they would finish with '40'.

He has to fill the time when the Edge changes guitar and the like........ I just tune out for those few minutes.

Agreed. This is definitely a case of less being more.

Wouldn't mind hearing Miss Sarajevo or something like Ultraviolet.

I love 'Elevation' but the lyrics always make me laugh.

'A mole digging in a hole
    Digging up my soul '.

And they earn millions for it!

"Get on your boots", first dud number of the night for me.

Yep, people enjoy it though and at that stage they had already written their epics, enough to live off for years......
Enjoying it lots - they have such a huge back catalog of stuff, could probably do a full day set and play a seriously good gig!

Acutally Get On Your Boots is very good live. I hate it on radio.

Yeah, too much recent stuff creeping in now. Get on your bike with the new stuff, Bonobo, more like.

Just said more or less the same thing to the missus. I saw then three times in Croker last time round & they were great, but this is something else altogether.

Listen, Fr. Bonobo, if you shall insist on playing the new stuff, play Moment of Surrender, City of Blinding Lights and Sometimes you can't make it on your own.

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,524 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

WTF are BBC doing, 3rd channel change now just they are launcing into Sunday Bloody Sunday!

  • Registered Users Posts: 843 ✭✭✭Yellowledbetter

If you dont like what's being played then just turn off........simples!

So far this set has had something for every kind of fan, seriously like only an hour and how many songs have they played....and not much of Bonzo's waffling
