u2 are still one of the over rated bands on the planet and tonight proves it
If you took their four commercially/critically weakest albums, say 'October', 'Rattle & Hum', 'Pop' and 'No Line on the Horizon' (your milage may vary), and donated them to another band, it would make them a very nice career and back catalogue thank you very much.

Its perfectly fine not to like their music or only like a certain period of their stuff but the fact is that they have had huge critical and popular success for four decades and you don't achieve that with just smoke and mirrors.
So far this set has had something for every kind of fan, seriously like only an hour and how many songs have they played....and not much of Bonzo's waffling
Here's the thing. Despite the myth, he keeps the prattle between songs to a minimum most of the time. There tends to be one big band member round of intros and one big 'sermon' (time to go to the loo) in a gig but otherwise they are better than most acts at moving from one song to another as quickly as possible. Bit chattier tonight and the gaps to night between songs are actually pretty long for them, probably due to the unfamiliar set up.

F**k all that pay-your-tax-in-Ireland crap, way too many attention seeking begrudgers in this world. U2 have done so much, for Ireland, and elsewhere, they are true Irish ambassadors, debt wiped clean for various countries, regular donations to numerous charities, getting many world leaders (and others) to wake up and do something positive. Well done I say, continue to do what you do now, the world has definitely benifited from their existence, musically and otherwise. Well done U2, you always help me feel proud to be Irish ;)

Because he's in Britain, and he put a Union Jack and Irish Tricolour beside each other.

Don't see the problem with it!

2 members of the band were born in England?

I thought Bono was struggling with his voice earlier but the last 5/6 songs have been great.
