It's coming up to the 104th anniversary of the theft of the Irish Crown Jewels. The Irish Crown Jewels were not like the English or Scotish crown jewels, but instread consisted of a pair of broach type devices, that were worn by the sovereign during the ceremony to install a member of the Illustrious Order of St. Patrick, which was an order of chiveraly, constructed for the purposes of bestowing royal honours on Irish subjects, not unlike the Order of the Garter (English) or the Order of the Thistle (Scotland).

Next 6th July, marks the day, 104 years ago, that the theft was first discovered from Dublin Castle. Despite a commission of enquiry, the crime remains unsolved to this day...

Funnily enough, while the Irish Crown Jewels remain missing, the Illustrious Order of St. Patrick still exists...
