Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

relying on this electric pump to water cattle.

seems to be leaking air through a hairline crack in the tin pressure vessel.

will the pump work if I remove the vessel and seal the vessel outlet?

Yes, but it'll be cutting on and off the whole time as water is used and pressure rises and fall.
It'd be best to repair/replace the pressure vessel, as its purpose is to act as a pressure reserve in the system and NOT have the pump switching itself on and off too frequently and burning itself (and/or the pressure switch) out prematurely.

It won't do any harm to switch it on to fill the troughs and then switch it off again, if you have the trough capacity and it's not too inconvenient.
Running a pump straight to nose bowls or the like would be rough on the pump and switchgear.
