Just about to book my year long WHV and was wondering if setting up a bank account and getting a tax number is easy enough to do on your own when you get to Oz? Looking to book flights, visa and insurance myself as it works out cheaper than a package deal but obviously then you have to sort out the above stuff yourself - is it handy enough to do or should I just go through USIT or Go 4 Less to save the hassle? Thanks!

Yes its easy do it yourself the world and his dog in every hostel can piont you in the right direction.

For a bank account. Way easier that Ireland... Get the address you are staying at, they will ask for this. Also bring some id, passport and any cash you might want to lodge, if you do. Thats about it as i remember
