Sorry to add another 42" query to the board, but here goes :)...my mate is moving into a new house very soon and is looking 2 x 42". He has a budget of roughly £800. Can collect from RS in Belfast. What is the best value for money deals going at the minute?

    Cheers

He has just told me that he wants to get a 50" and a 42" now instead of 2x42"s. He will obviously increase his budget, so what are his best options?

Hi there, no worries. Eveyone is allowed to change their mind !

On the 50" front, the LG 50PK590 is a bit of a bargin at the minute.

Very thin, stylish, netcast internet access, 4 x hdmi, great picture with the 600Hz processing and excellent sound.

The LG 42LD490 is a great LCD that offers the same netcast streaming and internet access, 3 x HDMI inputs and is excellent value for money.

If he wanted to go to LED instead of LCD on the 42", the 42 LE4900 is worth looking at but you drop some of sound quality in favour of the slightly slimmer and more stylish cablinet. It's £479.95.

I hope this helps, but let me know if these prices are within the budget and any thoughts you have.

    Thanks

    Dave
