Self build co-op Ireland?

Anybody watching Grand Designs program last night? Its was a group called Hedgehog self build co-op. Where over two years, a group of people help build each others houses. Instead of waiting for years on a council waiting list! Anybody doing this sort of thing in Ireland?

see here http://www.habitatireland.ie/ i think they built some houses in ballymun on council land.
i think on that program, the people didn,t own the houses,the rent was very low, if i remember correctly.It was done by a local housing charity/co op.
