    That's grand. I applied to Erin Go Bragh under EireMcGuire, looking to play as an IA Medic. I'm pre-ordered as well. Thanks.

    Nice one, glad to have you with us. We should have quite a lot of irish all on the one pvp server with the cool Alliance system they put up.

    Hm, interestingly DOT seems to have share 2 guild ally/enemy links with Ubiqtorate - small world!

    Haha, that is indeed a great coincidence, I was worried for a minute I wouldn't get to fight you when we got to launch. ;) We could probably do with another adversary, do you want me to suggest you guys?

    I'll speak to the guild leader about it, we'll probably end up on the same server anyway but it's always good to build up plenty of acquaintances. Funnily enough a lot of guilds seem to have more adversaries than allies.

    Oops, apparently I shouldn't have been so quick to offer up DOT as a home for Irish RP guildies. :o I've been asked to pass along the following message from our GL:
    Due to the nature of the guild DOT was never to be massive, and because a lot of us work / have other RL commitments there are very few of us who have the time to take on managerial roles within the guild.

    Part of that is aiming to recruit members who generally pose a lot less drama than the average 17 year old. ;) My officers and I have also had a discussion and we are now looking to cap pre-launch at 35 members max.

    And of course each recruit is assessed on their own merits and suitability to DOTs overall ethos and playstyle.

    Many thanks
    Elsharla

    Currently we're in the high 20s so I would advise though who may have been thinking of joining to get an application in sooner rather than later just to be safe.

    Omphin could you take DOT off the guild list?

    I'm likely to get this game - but not overly pushed about it (MMO Saturation over the last few years has led to very low expectations).

    One thing I have noticed however is that a lot more people seem to be leaning towards imperial. Are there any polls or figures on this?

    Server Imbalance was a plagueing issue for Warhammer Online.

    Going to be playing a Cyborg Imperial Agent Operative, looking to join a mostly pvp but occaional pve guild.

    Gonna be a IA Sniper most likely, although I'm an Altaholic, played BH Merc in Beta also and will likely be levelling one of those up too. I tried most classes in this weekend's Beta on both sides although most are mirrored the stories are different.

    I'm not hugely concerned with finding a guild but I will be very active and having people to do FP and WZ's with who aren't dumb might help somewhat.

    OT: A guild's name has always played a big part in whether I would apply or not, I could never be in a guild who's name was mispelled or in l33t or just dumb. As an aside Erin go Bragh is an anglicisation of the Irish phrase Éirinn go Brách, being overly patriotic doesn't appeal to me either but if your gonna do it do it right.

    Respectifully i disagree, the phrase may have stemmed from the words " Éirinn go Brách " however the phrase became famous only in the anglicised
    versions such as the Los San Patricios flag and with other forms of emigrant nationalism.
    It was for this reason we used the anglicised version of the phrase, because EGB represents modern day irishmen from all over the world with many different backgrounds.

    Following on from Omphins post about EGB and ATT merging in SWTOR I want to give people a bit of context and background. ATT has been raiding end game WoW since the end of TBC. We took a few breaks here and there but as a group we stayed together and made a right push for ICC and into Cata becoming the most progressed Irish guild. We originally started as a group of friends (from Waterford) and the guild grew from there to take in a few Dubs and other Irish people we met over the years. We have been in discussion with EGB about SWTOR for the last few weeks planning out a structure for the guild. In a nutshell this is what we propose:

    - We join forces and create a larger Irish presence on the one server
    - We provide a structured end game raiding guild focused on progression
    - We provide a structured social guild, capable of en...d game raiding, organised PVP and instance running.
    - We provide a website and forums as well as a Mumble server.

    The website/forums we are using will be up and running within a day or two. Currently in the process of removing the old WoW content and setting it up for SWTOR.

    Now raiding is always tricky to manage and we will have something for everyone. Anyone that joins will have a fair attempt to join the raiding team when it is formed. Raiding places are earned, not given out freely. We will have a progression based raiding team which will have a skill and time commitment barrier. We have had people from boards come to raid with us in WoW this expansion, some liked it, some left in a huff, but that's the nature of end game raiding. Not everyone, myself included, will be able to commit to something like this and what ATT has always offered is a second, more social raiding environment. Our social team was running ICC heroics at one point. Outside of raiding we will have an active PVP side (hence the PVP server) and instance running. In short, anything you want to do in an evening there should be someone online to link up with.

    So if you can join the guild now go to http://www.swtor.com/guilds/274736/att and sign up. If you remain in EGB before launch keep checking back here or on the forums for the merger date, at which point the guild will absorb into ATT.

    I like the republic/imperial guild ratio on the PvP side, Honour Guard have got this anyways !

    Can I ask why you are all going Imperial :P??

    It cool that people band together like this.

    I personally look forward to not playing with Irish people and I hope I never come across Irish people on my server of choice.

    I have a guild of around 8 people (not Irish mostly UK) that are deciding on a server. I'm happy to bring them to whatever server is settled on here if I can.

    It looks like we will be going Sith, I'll be playing an Inquisitor healing and maybe a Powertech if I have much time.

    Mostly excellent gamers so if we join we may look at a merge sitation to facilitate more content.

    We don't have a decided guild name but generally go by "Old School". In SWG we were the second highest Imperial guild on Chimera EU after KDS. I was one of the highest ranked BH's before they changed the entire game.

    Hey mate, most of us are going Sith too, but on a pvp server. If you like create your guild now and add any of the guilds listed on the pvp realm as an ally, that would get your guild on the same server as us. Or, you can wait till we announce the name of the PVP server here and just log onto it on launch day, its up to you.

    either way, everyone needs to keep an eye on this thread for the names of the servers that we agree to play on. Looking forward to seeing u guys in game

    Posting that u dont wanna socialise with irish people on an irish mmo forum kinda paints a picture, does it not? each to their own, i just dont know why you would even bother to mention it

    nah, just questioning ur motive for expressing a dislike for irish people in mmos on an irish mmo thread. Do what you like, just dont know why you cared to express it here. maybe u were mistreated by some irish players in the past. There might be a forum elsewhere to help ya with that :p

    "As we prepare for Early Game Access to Star Wars™: The Old Republic™, we’re working to ensure that those of you who have registered guilds as part of our Pre-Launch Guild Program experience a smooth transition into the game. To that end, we want to remind you all that today is your last chance to finalize your guild before we bring an end to the Pre-Launch Guild Program."

    Hope You guys keep in touch to make sure our alliances and adversaries work and put us on the same realm. Please check this thread over the next week to be sure. Let us know if you get word on what server you have been allocated to. :pac:

    Whenever Bioware show us what server we are on we can spread the word then. I can't see any preference for a server name as every server starts off on an equal footing. We can see what guilds make what server and if need be communicate with others to place us all on the one (PVP) server.

    Just noticed this as well:
    Now that the Pre-Launch Guild Program has ended, guilds on the website may not be altered in any way. This includes:

    * Creating/disbanding guilds
    * Adding/removing guild members
    * Promoting/demoting guild members
    * Adding/removing Allies and Adversaries
    * Changing guild's server type, time zone, and language preference.

    So anyone like the poster above that is considering a guild cannot create or join one now. Might be a good idea to check the threads here and see what server the majority roll on.
