I want a new desktop..help please

So I want a new desktop. I toyed with the idea of a laptop but I have one in work I can bring home if needed, so I'd rather have a powerful desktop (my current one is a Dell, bought in 2002!!)

So my requirements:

• must have at least 4GB of RAM
• 500GB hard drive is plenty
• fast CPU
• graphics card capable of most games
• can have 2 monitors plugged in

I guess I'd need monitors too. At least 22" if possible. And HD

My budget, around the grand mark (including peripherals if possible), though I'm a little flexible on that.

Can it be done????

Windows 7 64bit.
If you're a student or have kids going to school, you can get Professional for cheap but home premium is fine for most people.

Windows 7 would be my pick. I don't see any reason to get any older Microsoft OS unless you have a specific need to get it i.e. To use an old program that only works on XP.

Or if you want to get something free Ubuntu is the largest distro of Linux so it would be a good place to start.

That board is actually €83.63:). Would the ASRock Z68 Pro3 be a better choice?

Its a 3 week old post, prices change pretty quickly in the tech world :P

Z68 boards are good if you want to use the additional features (Write caching etc). Otherwise P67 is fine.
