    Hi,

Just had my first DE shave after years with Mach3 & Fusion......what can i say.....amazing. Purchased an Edwin Jagger DE89L from Shaving.ie and already had the Taylors Jermyn St Collection shave cream on the shelf. Used a Derby blade and all i can say is i am absolutely stunned as to how easy on the face this shave was. One or two niks but the same places where i used to nick myself with my cartridge razors. Small bit of burn but nothing worth worrying about. Might try a Gilette Yellow next shave as it seems the Derby is not that close but a safe starter blade.

Don't use pressure with the razor, just leave the weight of the razor do the job. If you do that then you'll notice less burn, and fewer cuts.

the gillette 7 o clock yellow is a class blade,,very sharp,,maybe learn with ure derbys first before moving on,,,,, gillette yellow is the best i have used(tried 8 or 10 of them already)
try not to cut time off the prep before shave.maybe try pre shave oil or pre shave cream proraso pre/post shave cream with aloe vera before applying soap..really makes a difference to reduce burn.
