Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's LIDL. What is there to be suspicious about?

Products with brand names that sound like the names of chemicals that should be on the periodic table

The stand is perfect, nice and weighty, very well built.
I got it the last time it was on offer, few on here got it and were well pleased.

No problem, glad to help. I have gotten great use out of mine and was surprised how heavy it was, has a good quality feel off it.

great price for what seems a solid bike stand. just one question how compact is it when not in use?

limited shed space and the other half is already not happy with the bikes:rolleyes:

    thanks, rob.

I got one of those stands last time and they are very well made, with some care they should last years and easy to store, about the same size as a big garden sun shade when stored, stand it upright like a garden spade, just takes up a 6 in of ground space

Got the lidl bikestand 2 nite (they were putting out the bike stuff at 8.50).It seems pretty robust and certainly as good as any other i've seen below 100 euro. The Arklow store had about 40 in stock.

I got one last time, as others have said, they're great value for money and make fiddling with the bike much easier. I notice they've bumped up the price by a fiver though - the cheeky scamps :-)

might be a ridiculous question.. but would a bike stand fit in a backpack?

I am guessing the weight is arount 5kg an lenght of packaging 50cm? is that way out?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,281 ✭✭✭Ricky91t

Got a bile stand and a speed clock thing plenty of both in listowel

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,068 ✭✭✭✭neris

was in lidl in baldoyle at 8:05 and the bike stands were walking out the door in pairs. Some lad had taken half the cans of puncture repair stuff aswell. The computers seem decent. Got 1 last year and its still going so got another 1 and was glad to see its wireless

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,561 ✭✭✭Eamonnator

I don't think the bike stand would fit in a back pack, they weigh more than 5kg and the packing is quite bulky. Drogheda South Side have nine left(8.45am)
The base layers seem to be very good quality.

Just got the bike stand from Lidl as Ive been looking around for a while. Set it up and it's strudy, easy to assemble, exactly what I need a under a third of the price from what ive been looking for from other sites.

Got a bike stand in Lidl on the Headford road in Galway when they opened at 8am. They had about 35 on display at that time. I haven't opened the box yet to see what it's like.

I got a baselayer vest as well and it seems pretty decent.

My bike clock randomly reads 4.9km/h is this interference from RF devices?

it was a ridiculous question.. 90cm box, weighs closer to 10kg.. glad I never went with it and took the luas!

a load of stands in tralee at 8 but id say they wont last long, a crowd of people stormed to the bike stuff and nothing else :D computer seems fairly decent as well, soon as i figure out if my speed is right, does it make a difference where you have the sensor and magnet (near hub or out near rim?)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,281 ✭✭✭Ricky91t

I don't think so just as long as it's '2mm' gap between them. Though from experience you can usually have more space!

Shouldn't do. The speed is calculated based on the wheel circumference and time between revolutions, not the distance the magnet travels.

Just back from Coolock where I got one of the stands. About 20 left.
Picked up cycling trousers and sports socks as well. Loads left. The stands seem to be the most popular item.

    Post-Ring of Kerry effect?

Loads of stands left in Grange Rd, Ballinteer (Dublin) this morning at about nine. Though I was one of three purchasing same at the time. Forget about trying to fit it in a backpack, by the way.

I'm heading up to Rathmines at one o'clock to pick up the bike stand.

Anyone on here been up there in the last hour or so?

    Wondering was there any left.

Got the puncture canister as well as the minipump - lots of stands left at 8.45am in Dundalk.

What does the puncture canister actually do? I picked it up on a whim and threw it into the saddle bag - is it only for emergency puncture-repair purposes - do you need to bin the tube afterwards?

Bought the stand, baselayer and 3/4 length tights in Pottery Road this morning and there were plenty there. First two are great value but the tights are a bit pants! The insert is bit like a big nappy and doesn't sit properly and will be going back

Loads of stands left in Lidl Moore Street just now.
