Shoud I get insurance?

Hey folks
In the next few days i will be moving in to an rented apartment, should i get house insurance ?, or would the place already be insured ?
Also can anyone recommend a good company to get insured with,

The structure should be insured by the landlord, but your contents (TV, laptop, if you bring furniture...) is not, so it's a good idea to get contents insurance, especially if you have stuff worth stealing.

If there are any other insurance companies that provide household insurance, it might be an idea to give them a call and ask about contents only as a renter.

Several of the major insurers do online contents-only housing insurance for tenants. Some don't. I just renewed my own. Had been with Allianz for the last couple of years and their quote was still cheaper than most but FBD were 30% cheaper again. Quotes will vry depending on your exact cicumstances. So shop around.
