Old Castle/House near Thurles or Limerick Junction

The thread on Casey's castle promted me to ask about this house or castle.

When on the Limerick/Dublin train as we head in the direction of Dublin, we pass a ruin on the right not far out from the junction or Thurles. It's a square type ruin.

Anyone have any details on it.

PS. It clould also be just outside Templemore. sorry for the lack of location but it's been a while since I took the train.

I'm not familiar with that part of Co. Tipp but I'll be taking that train journey in a few weeks so I'll have a look out for it.
