I got my second choice
I knew I wasn't getting my first choice, but never got around to shifting it from my CAO app before the change of mind deadline so it was still there. DELIGHTED.
I'll be off to Tallaght in September to study Culinary Arts.
OMG it is actually happening. ARGH where is there sand so i can bury my head? Off on the pisser this weekend now to celebrate the birthday and the offer.
Congrats to everyone who got what they wanted, v soz to everyone who didn't get what they wanted, here's hoping ya'll go up in later rounds.

Jesus, I just got offered a place to NUIG's Open Science course. I'm actually not sure if I'm happy or not. I did an interview with Limerick IT months ago and got offered a place (2nd choice) but had decided it wasn't what I was actually wanted and I never heard anything from NUIG so I pretty much made up my mind to go the Open University route. Besides I can't afford to move to Galway. I've been unemployed for over a year now and when I was filling out the CAO I had presumed I'd have a job and money.
Argh confused
I really wanted NUIG too.
BUT congratulations to everyone who got offered a place I hope there are no issues like mine for ye! 0 -

Hey got offered my 1st choice Forsenic Sciene GMIT happy but worried about job opportunities after the course what happens if you dont accept this choice is it gone or what, my second choice is Computer Software Dev. plenty of jobs out there in this field!!!
unfortunately if you don't accept this (since it was your first choice) you won't get offered anything else. you always have a chance to be offered something higher up your list in later rounds (assuming you didn't get your first) but they will never offer you anything lower. I really like the idea of Forensic Science, what makes you think there would not be job opportunities? It is a very specialist field. go for it 0 -

Congrats to everyone. I got my first choice NUIM Community and Youth. Although I got an offer letter it just seems so real now oh God think the nerves just kicked in!.
To anyone who didn't get an offer panic not. I applied last year an although I had distinctions (7 of them was one short for full award) among other awards I still didnt get in. Its not the end of the road. Sometimes people fall through the cracks and maybe this isnt your time just don't give up and throw the towel in.
Remember you can always phone up the college etc in August/September to enquire if any any places are left of anyone droped out. Its always an idea to phone up and say you applied and really wanted a place in such such place (kiss ass lol) but why didn't I? You have nothing to lose. Theres always other rounds of offers aswell.
Again to everyone CONGRATS! Its all starting to feel VERY real now ......

I agree. The course I'm gonna b doin in sept I originally applied for thru failte ire 3yrs ago and for various banjaxed reasons I am only finally doing it now after applying thru the CAO. Don't lose heart keep your chin up and fight for what you want. Things will come right in the end 0 -

Was this with UCC? Some courses, even if applying as a mature student, require a certain grade at Leaving Cert. standard.For me it says that I have no offers, does that mean that they did not send them or that it's a rejection?

Unfortch I think that means u didn't get any first round mature offers based on your interviews etc. Sorry there is still second round mature/fetac offers on the 4th aug and the two lc rounds at the end of aug. Pls god u get an offer in one of them 0 -

Hey everyone!
Huge congratulations to all that got offered places, it's been such a long and arduous process I'm glad that so many got what they wanted!
So I have a question, I got offered Psychology in UCD (yay!), but since applying I decided I want to do Multimedia in DCU instead and put that as my first choice. I have the lc points for this. But should I accept the UCD offer just in case I dont get the DCU offer in August?

Yeah I just rang up - Got rejected Absolutely gutted...
I'd recommend anyone who gets the same message as me on CAO to ring the college, they'll tell you what the story is. As CAO keeps the message the same if you didn't get any offers (or if they have yet to come).
