Are they in the order you would like to get them? If so then don't worry about anything else and leave it.

What interests you? What would be your ideal idea of a job?

Lots of people don't going to college, except in a general way.

Usually they are far more sure of what they *don't* want to do.

Pick on the basis of what courses you would like to do, what you know you will be interested in and work at.

And certainly, it's a good idea to look at the possible areas of work which you might go into, but don't obsess too much about it at this stage, especially if the courses you're choosing give you very broad options, as yours do.

yeah the thing is that for the past 4 years I wanted to do law,
now I started to work in hospitality and I enjoy it so much :(

I could say something here but the risk of a red or yellow card is too great :P

Pick a course that interests you, needn't be something you can imagine working in for the next 50 years but it needs to be something you will happily study for 4 years.

After 4 years you will have a clearer idea of what you want to do. If the degree doesn't suit what you want then do a postgrad!

I meant: "Lots of people don't (know what they're going do in life when) going to college, except in a general way."

    It was implicit!! :p

You can get into Hospitality later in life with no degree. It's important to have a good degree (assuming you don't hate it). Even if you never end up doing law it's still a good degree to have.

    1. DC230 Economics, Politics and Law
    2. DT399 Economics and Finance
    3. DN500 Arts
    4. DT365 Business and Management
    5. DC131 Communication Studies
    6. MH101 Arts
    7. MH401 Finance and Economics
    8. MH107 Social Science
    9. MH112 Politics
    10. TA322 Computing

10 is purely an insurance policy. I would advise anyone who doesn't have 10 courses down on the CAO to fill in the remaining few spaces with backups. I've heard stories of people only putting down 4,5,6 courses and them not getting any of them.

Alternatively, you can always do a Law degree later in life - very many people do.
A degree in a hospitality related area would be something to consider if you enjoy working in the field.
It boils down to what you want to do yourself.

I decided to put Arts as my first choice as I can either keep law or drop law after first year and there is no difference between Arts an Law and Arts. I will just have to get 60% it my Law exams by the end of first year, and if I won't it's not for me.

    1. TR019 Law and German
    2. TR004 Law
    3. CK306 Law (International)
    4. DC230 Economics, Politics and Law
    5. DN660 Commerce International - German / Chinese
    6. DN622 Law with Politics
    7. TR017 Law and Business
    8. TR020 Law and Political Science
    9. TR086 Business Studies and German
    10. DC113 European Business (German)

I think a Law degree is good, as you can go in so many different directions with it. If you want to do Hospitality, do a course related in it & if you don't like it, you can still become a solicitor because all you need is a degree! I know what you mean about being confused, I freaked out yesterday because I convinced myself the closing date was yesterday :p Good luck :)

I have only got 6 courses listed for my Level 7/6 choices, because I can't find anymore that I'm really interested in. Does anyone think this is a bad idea to just have six, should I just maybe pick out some more courses or leave it as it is?

I'd say that employers would consider there to be a difference between law through arts and standard law

 Way too far down the list. :p

Do you really want to be an Actuary? For certain? Because if you aren't sure, you might be better just doing Maths and then going to do Actuary afterwards.

My list from last year went like this:
    1.TCD Maths
    2.TCD Computer Science
    3.TCD Science
    4.
    5.
    6.
    7.
    8.
    9.
    10.
I knew I'd get my number 1 though. The others were on my mother's insistence that I fill more than one spot.

It's something I have gone back and fourth with but now I am sure that I want it. The reasons I had for going off it were I wasn't sure I was capable for it but reviewing an aptitude test I did some time ago I know I can do it. Job security and salary have played a part in my choice, but more so out of seeing people lose jobs in the recession etc. than out of greed.

And as for Trinity being too far down, I was up at a revision day on the campus and got lost (:P) and anyone (students) who I asked for directions from were all really snobby..! Not that I'm stereotyping.. It was higher up until that day! :L
