How much time each week do you spend maintaining your bike?

Cleaning the chain, rims, fixing the occasional puncture, adjusting gears, blah blah. It's all a lot more time consuming than I expected.

Interested to hear how long you lot spend at it per week.

If you go out on a wet ride then clean and lube your chain, cassette, chainset afterwards. If you ride has been dry/almost dry then there's probably occasional/no need. Regarding keeping the frame clean and sparkling - that's a vanity issue.

Regarding other mainainance, your bike should let you know when something needs tweaking/replacing.

I check my tyre pressure before every spin.

I used to clean and degrease my bikes every weekend. That got old fast though, so now I just wipe them down every now and again when the dirt starts to build and degrease/relube whenever the chain starts making noise.

Other than that I just inflate the tyres once a week, adjust the gears as I go (fiddle with the knobs on the downtube when it starts to skip) and dry off the chain after a wet ride.

Tyres pumped once a week or before a decent spin.
Chain cleaned and lubed about once a month. Brakes and stuff checked then also.
    Gears adjusted on the fly.
Brakes adjusted / replaced on demand.

I don't wash my bikes, they wash them for me:

I try to get them as dirty as possible (the bikes...and the girls).
