What could have caused my upload SNR to jump to 31.00, its usually 21.00 or 22.00?? Maybe exchange work/upgrade? According to the NGB map; my exchange is due to be upgraded between April - June.

Here are my stats for the last few days. Note the upload SNR for 30-06-11.

Motorola Netopia 2247-62 Software Version 7.8.2r2

Getting the same results today aswell.
Theres no problem but does anyone have any ideas why this happened?

    all the best,

A jump in SNR is a positive thing the higher it goes the better :)
They probably were doing some upgrades on the exchange for it to jump up from 21-31 thats a huge jump :P

Yes its a huge jump that went in a positive direction but isnt it strange that attn up/down or SNR down havent changed some bit aswell. I understand that the attn value is obtained from the line length and quality. Maybe something strange in the DSLAM

    Same results today.

    Just tried 2 different modems:

    Netopia 3347W SNR UP = 29dB
Netopia 2247-02 (with faulty wifi module) SNR UP = 29dB

So Ive got 3 modems giving me roughly the same result, so it aint my modem. Something must have been changed at the exchange.

    Hi John C,

    Thanks for the posts.

As Jay93 says, an increase in SNR UP is a positive thing. This may have been due to work on the exchange as you say. An engineer may have been doing some work in your area. Then it could have been something removed off your line - affecting noise on your connection

PM your phone number or let me know if you have any problems on your broadband connection.

    Kind regards,
    Ant
