Young one has only just learned to cycle a bike, are there any forest paths or safe areas to cycle in North Tip.? Roads are lethal where we are.

Report on this week's Nenagh Guardian on proposed new cycle path between Nenagh and Limerick which will run along the hard shoulder of the old N7. Has to be completed by the end of November.

For someone who is just learning to cycle there is a lovely route from Castlelough to Garrykennedy where you will find little or no cars. It formas part of route 2 of the Nenagh Cycle Hub. You will finds maps for all these routes in the tourist office (opp Dublin Rd in Nenagh). Going a little further afield Portumna Forest Park is one of the best places in the country for safe, traffic free cycling. Again, these are clearly signposted.
