remove lightbulb

    This is likely a bit of a "special" question but appreciate any help

    I want to remove the lightbulb in the pictures attached

    I haven't figured this out yet and have come close to breaking it...

    Any help is much appreciated

    Each end of the bulb are on spring loaded contacts. Just grip one white end, and push it directly toward the other end, as if pushing the other end further into its contact point.

    The end you have hand on will now move out of its contact and you can remove it.

    Use a piece of cloth if you think the bulb might break.

    Avoid directly touching the new bulb if you can, by again using a dry cloth to fit it if possible.

    They are held in place by a spring inside the white lamp holder on either end. Slide/push the lamp into the lamp holder to the left or right. This will give you enough slack to remove the lamp.
    Do the same with the new one Ie: insert one side into the spring side and then insert the other side and release.
    Don't touch the new lamp with bare hands!
    Use some tissue when inserting the new lamp as greasy fingers can create a hot spot and blow the new lamp.

    Just to add:

    With this type of light fitting the maximum wattage of the lamp can sometimes be restricted to 50 or 60W. Be careful to ensure that the manafactures recommendations are adhered to. Failure to do so can result in the light overheating. This could have all sorts of consequences!
