Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Guys,

I'm just a beginner and had done 22km about 5 times over a 2week period when on friday I decided to go for a 32km spin.

since then I have a fairly bad pain in my chest, like a muscle pain kind of on the breast bone, between the nippes, it hurst more if I inhale sharply ....

    is this normal?

It could be normal in times of great exhaustion but go see a doctor. The thread is going to be locked anyway.

Nobody here can really diagnose you, and medical advice is against the rules of boards. If you're getting pains that are concerning you go to a doctor, or if you're really sure that they are muscular, maybe a physio.

Probably muscular but it could be something very serious ( collapsed lung, heart attack, lung clot etc), get a professional opinion , medical advice from an internet chatroom is not a good idea.

Thought I'd get in before the mods spot this........
    1. Don't inhale sharply
    2. If on a recumbent lie on your back
    3. See a doctor

    Whatever about 1& 2, I'd definitely do 3.

    Good luck & good health.

It could be anything, go see a doctor.

They can check you out for any heart problems in a matter of a few minutes with an echo cardiogram and an ECG. It's totally non-invasive, involves no x-rays or anything like that and really no big deal to get done.

Call into your GP and ask to get screened for any heart problems.

It's worth knowing if you do have any issues, particularly if you're involved in sport.

Just pick up the phone and call whatever doc is working out of hours in your area. Take their advice.

You can call South Doc : http://www.southdoc.ie/index.cfm

Or, you can call into the VHI SwiftCare clinic at CityGate in Mahon (near Mahon Point) or any hospital with an A&E department.

You absolutely need to get medical advice immediately if you have serious chest pains after exercise.

While all the mods were away ....

Anyway, as highlighted several times already, medical advice cannot be sought or provided here

    Get specialist medical advice
