    Hi,
    Just a quick question :)..
How much cheaper is it to get tarmacadam laid now than what it was say 4 years ago?
I got a quote from a reputable contractor for 11.5K with drainage...
i was going to get them back now for another quote but was wondering if anyone has had there drive done recently that had had a quote a few years ago and if there was a big difference?.
    cheers

Sorry and thanks to the mod for moving it :D
Not sure on the grade as i never knew there was grades tbh, this is why i need to get them back for another quote and to also get other quotes..
I just went out and walked it and heres what i got roughly mind..

    Drive is 30m x 4m
front is 26m x 6m so thats x2 for front and back
side of house is 10m x 4m so thats x2 for both ends..

not sure how you got about it but does that mean its roughly 516/520 m2.

    cheers

Well I had my driveway finally tarmac'd a month ago, and with some kerbwork re-alignment, installing 3 x road gullies, my bill came to €36/m2. I had 2 x big runs, and it was all machine laid (big Bitelli machine).

Which means, to me, that 11k for your size sounds......well, cheap/good value.

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
