    In parent or baby? :D

Back on topic, with a newborn baby it is usually recommended to give some cooled boiled water in a bottle. If that doesn't do the trick after a few hours try some brown sugar in boiled water and allow to cool.

We used to put one teaspoon of sugar per ounce of water. I know this sounds a lot but it really does the trick and wouldn't be given often.

Give the public health nurse a ring. They give free advice. Alternatively the pharmacist can help.

Are you sure the baby is constipated? They can make some strange noises when they're newbies and getting a poo together. Do you breastfeed or formula feed. Breastfed babies can go for days without a poo.

I'd ring the nurse just to check especially with newborn as it mightn't be constipation
