Weddings in Sicily: any suggestions?

There is very little on this forum about having a wedding in Sicily. I've gone to several weddings in northern Italy, but to none in Sicily.

I'd be interested in getting married there, more specifically along the Sicilian coast. Would anybody have any suggestions for a coastal wedding in Sicily?

    Thanks.

Taormina! Watched a wedding there and it was fantastic. Or the medieval village of Erice in the mountains near Trapani.

Taormina! Watched a wedding there and it was fantastic. Or the medieval village of Erice in the mountains near Trapani.

Was in Taormina very recently and was charged anything from €2 to €3 for a 333ml can of coke. Re-read that! A gorgeous town indeed - absolutely buzzing - but horrendously overpriced. It was a financial relief to go to Siracusa a day later.

We did check out two hotels while in Taormina, Hotel Andrea, which has a superb seafront location where you could hear the waves next to you, was charging from €140 plus per head. But you did not get exclusivity, and in fact your wedding would be at the mercy of the regular piano music for guests. Hotel Villa Antonio, up the hill and located between two busy roads but overlooking Isola Bella was charging from €90 per head. You would get exclusivity there, but the noise was awful. It's a 3 star hotel, and he said each 500ml beer would cost €6 for our guests. Shudder.

That taste of Taormina has me thinking of other less known seaside areas of Sicily.

Taormina is beautiful, but very very busy, congested and not ideal for people with mobility problems.
    Erice might be better.

and +1 re: costs in Taormina - very expensive. Very basic hotel B&B accom cost us €78 per room per night, and that was BASIC, nothing fancy.
