Reading his prose is like listening to a talentless piano player playing music written by a talentless composer. Yes, sounds are being made, but that's about all it has in common with real music.

To me, it's like listening to an upjumped busker who takes about 10 seconds to say "oh".

I kinda like the description that some poor sucker left on the IT's website:
Waters is the literary equivalent of being pepper sprayed up the rectum while repeatedly hit in the face with a shovel.

I literally can't read what he says.

My eyes just go out of focus and wander off to look at some thing else...anything else...

I strongly suspect someone at the IT chose the picture above Waters'* latest excretion specifically to wind him up (just two women in bridal dresses looking very happy, doing their best to hide their plans for the destruction of civilisation.)

    * Freudian slip - I typed Waster :pac:

Anyone who thinks reading Water is bad should do a module in Ethics and ethical theory. Lonergan, Kant et al make Waters look like reading your abc's:(

I remember having do a compulsory module in Bioethics or something similar as part of my BSc. We had a lecturer come in from the philosophy department to give the lectures. When the option came to select it as an optional module during my MSc. I avoided it like the plague.

Waters-bored - yes; boarded - no, though that's what it feels like to those of us who are grammar and style fascists.

Catholics may buy newspapers, but this, it seems, does not entitle them to
read about things that matter to them. Instead, they must endure an – at best – persistent condescending crypto-satire ......

As I said somewhere else recently, if theres one thing they hate, its being mocked.....

  • Registered Users Posts: 34,910 ✭✭✭✭Hotblack Desiato

I saw no exorcism in St Peter’s Square last Sunday, because nothing of the kind occurred

John - Nobody cares either way. HTH, HAND.

Iona's Mr.Quinn was grumbling on the tweetbox that the Irish media weren't tripping over themselves to report about Waters speaking at the event to the thousands that showed up.

I'm not sure what exactly is newsworthy about it other than the size of the crowd he was speaking to:confused:

The comments are often the most interesting part of Waters' pieces. One, apparently in support of JW, is telling...

"But Christianity has to compete with liberal democracy, the most destructive form of government the world has ever seen ".

Nice fascist sentiments there from the religious lobby.

BTW, if Waters has a girlfriend, I assume that they are both celibate? I mean, if he's not married to her...
