Midweek nights out

I'm heading to galway city on sunday the 10th of the july and leaving on thursday the 14th. There are 7 lads in total, leaving cert holiday sort of deal. Already have accommodation sorted 2 minutes walk from ayre square. I'm looking for local knowledge on where to go and also if there are any places that provide good bargains, generally speaking or special student deals. Happy hour etc.

Also just general opinions on what to expect, n.b crowds during the week, if the nightclubs are even open.

Looking for a budget friendly holiday whilst still having the craic. Thanks

Cp and Carbon are open during the week but id expect them to be relatively quiet due to no students being around. Cheap pub would be Hole In The Wall on Eyre St, Fibbers on Eyre Square is cheap too, in more ways than one.

The weather is a big factor, if its wet the clubs will be packed to the rafters early enough but if its dry and people can stay on the streets then they won't fill up as quickly but would still be full by the end of the night.

Halo and Karma would open midweek for the races too so everyone wouldnt have to pack into two places.

The Galway Arts Festival starts the 11th so that should mean there will be more people stirring. There will be decent bands playing in most pubs due to the festival so ye should have a good time!

Sound lads! How much are drinks in the "cheap" places generally? In my local nightclub its 2 euro a shot before 12, 2:50 to 1, and then 3:50 till closing
