Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I got a rejection letter (or more politley a pfo!) for a job from a VEC that I did an interview for recently.

Can I ring up the VEC to ask for feedback on how my interview went and why I didn't get the position? Its just so I now what aspects I need to improve on for future interviews.

I know you can for promotional posts, but I haven't heard of someone doing it lately for an appointment. It'd be no harm to ring and ask though.

    Why does it matter?

Because I am awaiting correspondence from a vec and wanted to know if this person may have been applying to the same vec.

You can get feedback no problem from the VEC. Ring the HR section tell them you'd like feedback so that you can improve and get better at interviews.
HR will probably as you send in an email to them which they will forward to a selection panel member ( usually the education officer) who will get back to you.

You'd be silly not to take the opportunity to get feedback!

I usually do ring for feedback but I find that they just send you a sheet with random marks and it does not really explain were you go wrong. I recently had an interview with a VEC and received a letter in the post to say I didn't get the job the morning after. My interview did not finish until half one. They kept me in the interview for 45 minutes. Does this mean the job was gone?

You can of course contact them to get feedback although the record of the interview may be, as an earlier poster said, a scorecard. In my experience, you would be doing well to get to talk to any of the panel over the summer months as it's skeleton staff there.

At present, with the embargo on new appointments, and outreach staff being recalled to core positions, a lot of vacant positions are being filled by people in acting positions. For this reason, someone who was in the position, albeit on a temporary basis, may have also been in the mix.

Hi Last post is at 5.30 from many post offices and over night delivery does happen. I got a letter this way recently in connection with getting a reference from a school.

I know it seems like its all just big scam sometimes but the post things is OK. Its lucky to get an interview so you can learn for the next one regardless.
