Gaming Build

Hi everyone, I've never built a PC before and I've been dealing with computers since I was about 10 so I think it's about time I got some experience with it, not to mention the current house desktop is about 8 years old and I need a PC for gaming because, let's face it, Steam beats PS and Xbox in pretty much every way on the right PC.

So I was thinking of getting a really god case like a Thermaltake Level 10 GT or a NZXT Phantom and going about building everything around that on a budget of around €500 to €600 (not including the case's price).

From what I hear the Level 10 is close to being one of the best cases on the market at the moment so my reasoning for picking such expensive cases compared to the fairly modest budget is so I can give the PC some fairly big upgrades in the future as requirements go up.

I'm am open to suggestions on other cases since I am the n00b here.

I need everything for the build, monitor and OS and all but I'm not including the monitor and OS in the budget since I have a spare TV with a HDMI slot that I could use as a monitor for the time being, I presume most NVIDIA and ATI Radeon HDs have HDMI slots these day? And as for the OS you can just throw that in too and ignore if it goes over the budget.

And one last question, what kind of expect to get out of most games with the budget, medium or high graphic settings?

    Thanks in advance guys.
