Actually, no one has officially dropped out of college this year except Serena. Apparently, this means you can run a newspaper, get married to a Prince, and go on a book tour without worrying about missing classes, but I don't know... A girl in my college course was a manager of Dunnes while doing her degree, so maybe... :D

Did she go on to appear on Big Brother?.......... :p

Yup, and there goes the baby I bet! I knew they wouldn't take the pregnancy to full term.

Does anyone find it odd that every character dropped out of college after one year?

Yup, i think we all knew baby Blair wouldn't make it....... :(

Poor Chair :( loved their scenes again this week

Serena is jealous of Blair I think

Diana talking to Jack Bass  is she Chuck's mummy or another relative

How amazing was Dan? Penn did an amazing job, so subtle, best male actor by far on the show. I love how open, honest and comfortable Blair is around him. If they wanted to kill Dair they could have done it in this episode, Dan could have professed his feelings and Blair reject them and fail into the sunset with Chuck. Instead they chose, again to show how toxic and doomed chair is. The contrast in their scenes is so blatant now, Chair is so forced, needing ridiculous OTT dialogue, the crash to make them somewhat interesting, where Dair is easy and natural, just interaction, we can see the real Blair when around Dan and how much Dan understands and cares for her. Blair is so broken and lost though its not funny, needing someone to chose for her again, believing Chuck has suddenly changed, will she ever be allowed to grow. The accident was so stupid, I have my fingers crossed Chuck doesn’t make it though:pac:

Its an annual thing now, don't care anyway. Jack is entertaining though, even though I hate how everyone forgets his part in the hotel thing and wasn't he Chuck worst enemy too, and he attacked Lily.

    :(

    THIS! I thought all the fuss in the hospital was just over Blair losing the baby! Gaaaah, this show is cruel sometimes - just when Chuck & Blair were getting their happy ending ;_;

Definitely one of the better episodes. I've never been a Dair fan but what Dan did for Blair in this ep was just beautiful. Chuck & Blair in the limo was amazing too, they were so genuinely excited to be together again.

JUST LET SOMEONE BE HAPPY FOR ONCE GG >_>

Did we find out if that French woman was Chuck's mum though? I could be wrong but I thought after she told Chuck she wasn't she said to Jack he mus never know I really am, or something like that.. Anyone remember for sure?

What an ending. Was rooting for Dair for a little there! Charlie got a bit too dramatic at the hospital though, I was liking how her story was going. Hope she doesn't leave just yet.

It's gonna be gone too long now!

Yeah, she told Jack that she was Chuck's real mother. We didn't see it, but Chuck knows that she is, because in the Valentine's episode last year, he tells Raina that his mother 'abandoned and betrayed me'.

Don't be surprised if that is retconned though, it happens alot on GG anyway, remember in the pilot Chuck made some references to his mother, then later we learned she died giving birth to him .

I read ratings were down again this week, must have been all the DB:pac:

Yes I thought it was made clear or implied that previous lady (cant remember her name) was really Chuck's mother

I hope Jack Bass comes back for some of second part of this season

Jack is great fun! Sad its over for now.

You know what storyline never happened! When we saw Loius' sister getting with the priest in the limo. I assume all will be off with Blair and Loius after the break and they never had a good chance to sabotage them.

Ok...so the Dair scenes where nice this week...nice... Nice is nice but can also be boring!!! It was such a nice thing for him to do in bringing Chuck & Blair together. I think WHEN Blair finds out something will come off it in regards to Dair's relationship. I can see why Blair's character is better suited with Dan but I love Chair together, their love for each other is so intense, also I'm a sucker for Chuck, as bad as the stuff he has done in the past there is such a vunerable side underneath all of that and only Blair knows that side to him and I know that's not an excuse for what he done but he's a good boy now!! Also Diana has to be Chucks mother, I can't think of any other reason as to why Jack would call her and why Bart would have a photo of her in his file for her to destroy it... Oh and Max had oviously something to do with the accident. Mid season breaks are a friggin torture :)

Just wondering if you like the 'good' Chuck or did you prefer him when he was being a bad boy?

I'm not against Chuck at all, I just want Dan and Blair to get a chance to be together for a while and to give Blair a real boyfriend so that she might actually get over him. (Prince Louis doesn't count.) But I'm not sure how much I believe that Chuck is truly a good man now. And I don't even want him to be, cos he's more entertaining when he's a bit darker. And I don't mean the way he got in the last few seasons, but the kind of Chuck in season 1 where his biggest problems were Victrola and Carter Baizen stealing Nate from him.

I agree, they are turning him into the much maligned, boring Dan Humphrey but in expensive suits . I don’t believe for a second he is good now, he’ll revert to type, he always does. Last season he was good to Eva, then went to ‘war’ with Blair and it got worse after that. He is much better in the background with his dirty comments etc.

But it is so clear now Chuck is the lead on the show, Blair and Dan’s character are seemingly worthless in propping him, I hope Dan doesn’t know about 420, because he would never lead Blair back to that and we already know how they made Blair so weak to even consider him again. Look at the accident, it’s all Chuck again, no one asked about Blair baby, why do they need to make us sympathetic to him all the time. All this foreshadowing of Chuck dying ( attempted to jump off a building, shot, motorbike crash and now car wreck) is heartening though. Series finale, fingers crossed;)

Actually thanks for reminding me - Eva - Chuck was very well behaved with Eva and wanted to turn his bad boy ways around but Blair WOULDN'T let him!!! He had a chance in being happy with Eva but Blair ruined any chance of that by pulling the passport stunt! In fairness that was a bad act, Chuck wanted to be with Blair, she didn't want him but he wasn't allowed happiness with anyone else!!! So really Chuck good side had come out previous to this season, Blair did in fact pull him back to the "dark side" by running Eva out of town!

Blair had given Chuck numerous opportunities to win her back but because he believes that she can be truly happy with Louis he had put his feelings aside for her to find true happiness...

Again, I know there he has done some serious things in the past but I think it is unfair to just completely forget about what Blair has done too...

I dunno!!! I think the show will be extremely boring if Chuck stays all good...maybe a wee bit bad??!!!

As for Blair and Dan... read this :) So there are defo wedding scenes between them two....the suspense is killing me here!!!

I hated that Blair did that because it was clearly a cheap way of evening them up, not possible imo. I still think it was ooc for her seeing as she is willing to sacrifice anything for him.

Excellent video, so clearly a DBS triangle, Serena dream, didn’t notice Dan until he moved away, typical, he clearly has only eyes for Blair and she wanted him. Blair must be starting to reciprocate if Serena is having such dreams? Ed trying to keep it together was funny.

They can’t ever be happy together I think is the message the show is sending, they’ll portray this crash as one giant sign stating that again, as if we needed another one. Star crossed lovers and all that. Believe me as a Blair fan I wish they could be but its not possible.
    serenacat wrote: »

What baby thought, has it meant anything so far? its been pointless other than silly who’s the daddy cliffhangers. And probably kick starting Chucks ‘redemption’. Also it didn't seem important at the end of 510, no one asked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 221 ✭✭whats_my_name

My head is frickin wrecked...god damn u mid season break!!!! The suspense is killing me here!!

Yea, i really think that Blair will use the crash as a sign that her and Chuck should not be together (even though they should!!) and in Blair's praying scene in the promo she will ask God to let Chuck live and in return she will stay with the father of her child??

Tbh, I cant see anything more than friendship with Dan/Blair but something is been lined up to happen between them so I wouldn't be suprised if he has a bigger part to play in Blair not marrying Louis than Chuck will..(even though she was willing to leave Louis for Chuck in the last episode, how can that change so quickly?!) and the filming of scenes between them at JFK in her wedding dress would back that up....GGGRRRRR!!!!!!

But then this talk of dream/non-dream!! I seen a pic online of Blair wearing a wedding ring in between takes...so confusing!!!

Thanks coconut5 for the vids!!! any link i found online was removed :)

On any other show where Dan and Blair have had such an amazing, slow, organic buildup, where the two just fit perfectly and work, I’d be very confident that they’d be it, endgame or whatever. But since Chair won’t die and they tried, hotel, war, abuse and still the fans love them, ie Chuck, I can’t be confident in the long-term. They will get their shot though, all this build up isn’t for nothing and lots of spoiler pics, Blair hasn’t read the book and Dan’s feeling have only deepened. I think it will be great for all the characters when they get together, especially Blair who I only care about, will get over her weakling label and learn that love means being happy with the person you are, holding hands, going to movies, just being happy, etc. All the things she can’t with Chuck, not my opinion, canon!

Dan is about to reveal his true feelings for Blair on Gossip Girlbut not in a way that actually lets her know that he has done so! Here’s how the whole thing goes down: Blair’s still on the fence about whether to take the plunge with Louis when she stumbles upon the incredibly heartfelt vows he penned for their wedding… vows which, in hopes of wowing his bride-to-be, he had (drumroll please… ) Dan ghostwrite. So although Dan finally fesses up, Blair doesn’t realize he has

So basically, Blair sold herself again for Chuck. Her character is so worthless and disposable .She just finds out she lost her baby and immediately asks about Chuck. What purpose did the pregnancy serve? none as far as I see. Chuck is back to his old slimy ways, spying and planning on embarrassing Blair, she almost died and lost her baby and he is as selfish as ever. We get the same old repetitive goodbye scene between them. Yawn! Its embarrassing to watch. Leighton was very good like always, she deserves much better, she and DB are the only reasons to watch.

Meanwhile, contrast that to Dan, he is there for her, stands up for her, never asking her for anything in return, trying to lessen the drama around her instead of adding to it, she trusts him completely and relies on him so much. Their scenes are so heartfelt and honest. Blair needs to realise she has a better option. But they have to keep her this stunted as any growth would mean the end of CB for good, almost 100 episodes and they’re still beating that dead horse, it’s over, the pact with god even tells you, they are running out of ideas for them. And they can’t have them together cause they have nothing , save for silly, boring ott drama.
I've given up on GG, but i'm sending positive waves to everyone in this thread....good luck for the future and happy viewing!

Good decision! This had to be the most ridiculous episode ever,(said that before though) so many stupid, illogical things to even mention, like the pact with God and why would Louis(worst actor ever!) still want to marry Blair? stupid show. I’m never watching a full episode again!

What a let down episode I expected more especially about the miscarriage did Blair even care  Dan needs to tell Blair how he feels but alas end game is Chuck and Blair their chemistry only saving grace in that episode

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,397 ✭✭✭✭FreudianSlippers

Skip ahead in time with cheesy flashbacks, Random Jenny and Eric mention, reset of the storyline with no real explanation, Charlotte Rhodes and Lily not asking "uh is your mother my sister?" (can't remember her name), no more gossip girl... this show jumps the shark more times than any show I've ever seen!

The Blair praying thing is stupid and the general religious undertones to the show are odd... I'll still watch, but it's background noise now I'm afraid.

God doesn’t agree :pac: Based on what they’re doing to her character, they deserve each other, good luck to them, it will defiantly work after the series finale anyway, their recent attempt didn’t last an episode though.

I just want some semblance of the old Blair back first, independent, driven and smart and DB given a real chance. They can dumb her down again for Chuck if they want at the end. It’s not for certain anyway who will end together, DB’s build up is the best thing the show has done so I don’t care either way. I’m not sure they have the guts to choose, every fan base got something in this episode, they'll string everyone along and end with everyone single.

Why does Dan need to tell her though, it’s his problem not hers. He is being portrayed as the selfless one who puts her first. Chuck is back to the selfish manipulator is always was, he never ‘changed’ anyway. Its clear who they want the audience to root for.

    no more gossip girl

This really annoyed me! I loved the end of the last episode with Serena's "let's take this b*tch down" attitude (Nate's "let's use the spectator" not so much) but they just jumped forwards so they didn't have to come up with a 'how they could possibly achieve this' storyline!

Exactly... I thought at least we'd be in for interesting episodes: what's Charlie going to do, how will they take down GG, what happens to Blair and Chuck, etc.

Then they just skip all the potentially good stuff and just do weak flashbacks!

Gah, that was SUCH a poor episode. No mention of how they took GG down, as if it was easy as pie. Lots of filler explanation dialogue which is really annoying.
"Oh, wasn't it nice to see Jenny and Eric again even if they're gone now".
"Oh, Chuck. Isn't it great you've recovered from the accident you had 3 months ago?"
    Lazy writing.

They have destroyed Blair, there's barely any of her left. The old Blair would have laughed herself silly at the notion of pacts with God. I understand she's supposed to be grieving, but still.

To those who thought it was weird she asked for Chuck right after hearing she lost the baby: I thought it was understandable. A case of "wanting to get all the information (even if bad) over with in go".

Also, someone trying to kill Nate? In what universe is he important enough or making enough waves with his paper for someone to want him dead? Woodward and Bernstein are not hiding out in his office.

Drunk Blair was great, just being a happy 20 year old, not moping around consumed by Chuck all the time. Blair and Beatrice were good too. Forget the nonsensical reason Dan wrote the vows because the show is littered with them, Blair’s reaction to them though “It’s like he peered into my soul.", honestly its embarrassing to watch when they’re not doing Dan and Blair, they are perfect. Need the stupid wedding storyline to end and get back to their S4 dynamic. Chuck and Serena were pathetic, Chuck the selfish creepy stalker and plotting with the priest, Serena being selfish and manipulating Dan, really those two are perfect for each other. It seemed like another holding episode for the big 100th next week.

There is a ginormous revelation during the episode that could go down as one of the show’s biggest, most jaw-dropping twists in history. And it’s not directly tied to the nuptials.

Gossip Girl's Stephanie Savage and Josh Safran have dropped hints about the show's landmark 100th episode.

The executive producers told Entertainment Weekly that the final moments of the anniversary instalment will make fans "gasp".

"You have to see [the last few minutes] to believe them," said Safran. "I really think they will take people's breath away."

Savage added that the climactic sequence "had to happen" in the CW drama's 100th episode.

"That's one of the fun things about having a mature show in season five," she suggested. "In the first couple of seasons, you feel like you have to keep certain things very guarded and protected, because the hope is that you'll have to make them last a long time."

She promised that the writer's intentions behind the final scenes "will become clear with future episodes".

"You'll learn more about why that has happened [and] how that has happened," she teased. "You see, it was such an easy decision. It wasn't something we belabored over or had long discussions about."

Safran recently hinted that Chuck (Ed Westwick) will struggle to resist his bad-boy roots in future episodes.
