    Anyone know what the Process is for getting a replacement number? Can not find mine afraid it might have got binned by accident, is it an email before the event to organisers or speak to them on The day in the park ? Thanks

    Fair point, thanks, and as soon as I do chances are I will find my race numbers exactly where I left them last June for safekeeping !!

    Any further word on the change of the starting location? I was away for the 5 mile, but the roundabout on Chesterfield looked very close to the start and I'm not surprised there was congestion. The 10 mile race seems to be starting further back down Acres Road, so that should help, but there's a lot of punters signed up, many of whom as we know will be in the wrong section of the wrong wave, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's carnage at the roundabout! Also, watch out for the left turn from the Old Lamp Road onto the North Road on the second lap - very sharp, although hopefully the race will have 'strung out' a bit at that stage so won't be as congested. Overall, subject to the start going ok, it's a good course. It's a little flatter than last year, but not much. St Mary's Hospital turn, the Wellington Rd and the slow drag back up Chesterfield will all hurt a bit. Oh and there was no Khyber for the last two years either - that was in the HM. Best of luck to one and all. Hope to be there c. 68-69 mins.

    What to eat/drink before the race?

    I read that carbo hydrates should typically be consumed 15 mn before the race and 45 mn in the race.

    What do you recommand: isogel?

    If you're in the habit of eating carbs before a long run, or have tried taking a gel halfway through, fine, do that tomorrow. But it's not a day to experiment, it's not a good time to find that, actually, eating carbs just before you run makes you want to throw up.

    Have a nice Carbhydrate rich meal the night before and eat your normal breakfast a few hours before the race.
    You don't need to do anything else.
    The body stores enough glycogen naturally to last 10 miles.
    Double the distance and you might have to worry about taking on gels during the race.

    Get all your race kit ready - number on your top, socks and runners - this evening.
    Follow your normal pre-run routine in the morning, eating the same foods as usual.
    Leave yourself plenty of time to get there.
    Join the correct wave
    Don't get carried away at the start, take it nice and easy.
